to del PTO es mejorar y apoyar la experiencia educativa en la Escuela Las Estrellas, desarrollar una conexión más cercana entre la escuela y el hogar fomentando la participación de los padres y mejorar el ambiente en la Escuela Las Estrellas a través de voluntarios y apoyo financiero.
¿Quién puede ser miembro? Cualquier padre, tutor u otro adulto de un estudiante en la escuela puede ser miembro y tener derecho a voto. El director y los empleados docentes de la escuela pueden ser miembros y tener derecho a voto.
¿Por qué debo ser miembro o voluntario de la PTO?
¡Necesitamos tu ayuda! Necesitamos crecimiento y estamos buscando voluntarios para continuar restableciendo la organización. Hemos planeado algunos eventos emocionantes para el próximo año con la esperanza de involucrar a más padres en la educación de sus hijos. El PTO es un esfuerzo de equipo en el que no podemos tener éxito por nuestra cuenta. La participación a través del voluntariado le permite ser "práctico" con la educación de su hijo. Todas las investigaciones indican que cuando las familias están involucradas, un niño es más apto para obtener calificaciones más altas, es más probable que se gradúe y vaya a la universidad. A nuestros hijos les encanta vernos en este ambiente donde pasan siete horas al día. Llegas a conocer a los maestros de tus hijos y a los amigos de tus hijos. La participación a través de la asistencia a las reuniones de la PTO le da voz. Tú ayudas a decidir lo que hacemos como grupo. Usted ayuda a decidir a dónde debe ir el dinero. Si es nuevo en Las Estrellas, las familias establecidas están disponibles para responder preguntas y facilitar su transición para convertirse en una familia escolar. Una ventaja adicional es que tienes la oportunidad de conocer personas maravillosas que pueden convertirse en grandes amigos.
¿Cuánto de un compromiso de tiempo será? Solo USTED puede decidir cuánto tiempo puede dar. Incluso si puede ayudar en un solo evento o manejar una tarea por año, sería muy apreciado. El voluntariado no tiene por qué significar un gran compromiso de tiempo, tenemos trabajos que se adaptan a los horarios e intereses de todos.
¿Cuándo y dónde se reúne el PTO? El PTO se reúne el segundo miércoles de cada mes de agosto a junio de 5:30 p. a 6:30 p. en el Centro de Medios o en Zoom. Busque las próximas reuniones de PTO en nuestra pestaña de Eventos.

What is the PTO and what does it do? Las Estrellas School PTO is a non-profit organization of parents and teachers working together for the betterment of Las Estellas Dual Language Elementary School. The purpose of the PTO is to enhance and support the educational experience at Las Estrellas School, to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parent involvement, and to improve the environment at Las Estrellas School through volunteer and financial support. Who can be a member? Any parent, guardian, or other adult for a student at the school may be a member and have voting rights. The principal and any teacher employees at the school may be a member and have voting rights. Why should I become a PTO member or volunteer? We need your help! The Las Estrellas PTO is a small and busy group. We are in need of growth and are seeking volunteers to continue re-establishing the organization. We have planned some exciting events got the upcoming year in hopes to get more parents involved in their children’s education. The PTO is a team effort in which we cannot succeed on our own. Participation through volunteering allows you to be “hands on” with your child’s education. All research indicates that when families are involved, a child is more apt to get higher grades, be more likely to graduate, and go on to college. Our children love to see us in this environment where they spend seven hours a day. You get to know your children’s teachers and your children’s friends. Participation through attendance at PTO meetings gives you a voice. You help decide what we do as a group. You help decide where the money should go. If you are new to Las Estrellas, the established families are available to answer questions and ease your transition into becoming a school family. An added bonus is that you have the opportunity to meet wonderful people who can become great friends. How much of a time commitment will it be? Only YOU can decide how much time you can give. Even if you can help at just one event or handle one task per year, it would be greatly appreciated. Volunteering doesn’t have to mean a huge time commitment, we have jobs to fit everyone's time schedule and interests. When and where does the PTO meet? The PTO meets the second Wednesday of each month August through June from 5:30-6:30pm in the Media Center or on Zoom. Look for upcoming PTO meetings in our Events tab.
