Anthony 6th graders were lucky to start our school year with a book talk by author Rex Ogle. (Thank you Ms. Nevers and Wild Rumpus book store for making this happen!)
Some of the things students took away from his talk were: Write every day. You have to do the work. Stories are part of humanity. Write what you know- it can be a way to connect with each other. Rejections mean at least you are trying! Someone might finally give you a chance. And finally, it only takes one person with faith in you to make you believe in yourself.

If you are able, please consider a donation of school necessities: paper, pencils, facial tissues, sanitizing wipes. Bring donations to school during the open house on 9/3 or the first week of school. ❤️🖤

Anthony caregivers! The PTA is in need of a new social media volunteer (or two!).

This role includes:
- taking some pictures (most are provided by staff)
- some Canva work to create posts (most exist from last year and just need to be updated)
- posting to Anthony Facebook and Instagram
- attend PTA meetings one hour a month if possible but we can also send info to you

This is a fun way to get involved in middle school on your own schedule, typically 1-2 hours/week.

Hi everyone!

August is here and there's so much to do in the gardens! Please help us clean up the pizza garden at our next Anthony Middle School Garden Clean-up Day this Saturday, August 8th from 9:00-11:30am. Tools and cold drinks will be provided and no gardening experience is needed. Drop by for as much or as little as your schedule allows. Family (including kids!), friends and neighbors are encouraged to join, so spread the word!

And, mark your calendar now for one more August Clean Up day when we'll tidy up the spaces frequented by students and staff before doors open for the school year: Sunday, August 30, 9:30-11.
