Swan for back extension 🦢
Focus on extending through your upper and mid back rather than dumping into your low back.
Initiate by drawing your shoulder blades down away from your ears toward your back pockets—think flat, not pinched together. Maintain that connection as you peel up into extension and close the carriage.
Gently press your p***c bone into the mat to support and protect your low back. Remember: if your back moves, your carriage should move too.
I like one high red spring, or one red + one yellow (Balanced Body reformer).

I am thrilled to bring Jenn Vusich onto the Pilates with Annie team! Jenn is a certified instructor and mentored by me for the past year. She will be teaching on weekends. Follow her on 🌟 A little bit about Jenn in her own words…
“I fell in love with Pilates after undergoing major back surgery in 2021 for a severely herniated disc that had left me unable to walk. Starting from zero, I had to completely rebuild my strength and core. Through that process Pilates taught me a mind body connection that gave me a whole new outlook on fitness and low impact movement. It transformed my confidence, flexibility, and strength. That’s when I realized I wanted to do the same for others—to help people reconnect with their bodies and rebuild their own power.” ❤️

Lauren first came in with hip pain. Strength, posture, and feeling better in her body kept her coming back. Grateful to do this work and for students who trust the process! 🌟

2025 is off to a phenomenal start at Pilates with Annie! I’m endlessly grateful to do what I love every day and for my amazing students who show up rain or shine, ready to move and grow. Here's to continued progress and growing stronger, taller, and more limber. ✨

Dear Pilates, thank you for all that you do. You healed my debilitating hip pain and chronically tight neck. You allowed me to soar higher when I leapt across stage while dancing. You brought me a new focus and passion in the midst of Covid-19 and allowed me a workout that never hurts or strains my body, which has endured much abuse from years of dancing. You make me feel strong and bendy but always remind me where there's work to be done. Love ya! x
