Pipefitters Local 539 Training Center

There will be no open welding this week 3/17/2026! The Training Center will resume weekly open weld nights next week.

Last day of Advanced Refrigeration for our 4th year class. It was a service call day in the Refrigeration Lab. Compressor changeouts, TXV problems, fan replacements and re-piping a self contained freezer.

Thanks to all the service technicians that came out to our E3 controller Journeymen training at the Training Center. You made the 2 day course a great success. A special thanks to Jack Morrison from Copeland/Emerson for instructing the course. Thank you Local 539 Pipefitters

Today the training center had our first ever in house apprentice competition to pick our service representative to compete in the UA apprentice competition. The four competitors did an amazing job showing off their knowledge and skills. Thank you to Jacob Pesta, Kyle Scherber, Jerrod Niska and Jake Harbaugh for coming out and competing. Jerrod won and will be representing Local 539 at the upcoming State competition in March.

Reminder of upcoming classes for journeyworkers! These classes are for any Local 539 Journeyworker in good standing.

Starting in January 2026 we will be hosting evening journeyman classes for City Refrigeration Code, City LP Steam/How Water, City Gas Code and State High Pressure Steam Code.
