Last day of Advanced Refrigeration for our 4th year class. It was a service call day in the Refrigeration Lab. Compressor changeouts, TXV problems, fan replacements and re-piping a self contained freezer.

Today the training center had our first ever in house apprentice competition to pick our service representative to compete in the UA apprentice competition. The four competitors did an amazing job showing off their knowledge and skills. Thank you to Jacob Pesta, Kyle Scherber, Jerrod Niska and Jake Harbaugh for coming out and competing. Jerrod won and will be representing Local 539 at the upcoming State competition in March.

Starting in January 2026 we will be hosting evening journeyman classes for City Refrigeration Code, City LP Steam/How Water, City Gas Code and State High Pressure Steam Code. The following Link will take you to the training center website for info and to get signed up. If you know of any members who are interested please let them know.

No journeyman course payments should be made to JATC Training 539 until you have registered and been confirmed to participate at a specific date and time.
