If you're thinking your child needs direction from YOU to learn... you're mistaken! Children learn best when given the opportunity to be independently curious, given the TIME to implement ideas (hint: this is considerably more than a typical 20 min "recess" allotment 😳), and, most importantly, devoid of having to explain to the adults WHAT they are doing! 🤐 Just sit back and revel in the magic of THEIR learning!! ☺️

Received one of the BEST compliments this week!! I had a new "fill in" kiddo for one who was on vacay this week. Her Mom came to me mid week and said she was blown away when she asked her daughter (she's 4 "and a half" - her words ☺️) "how things were going/how was your day/what did you do?" She said usually she always just says, "good" "nothing"... but that day she SPRUNG to life, telling me ALL the things that they did, and ate, and learned!!!! Her Mom tearfully said she'd never had that kind of reaction from her!! I was blown away! 🥹💕 At a time when you start to question your purpose in life, God always has a way of showing you that you're right where you need to be, doing exactly what you're meant for. I'm so thankful for ALL the parents that have trusted me throughout the years, and especially the the kiddos that are now bringing me THEIR kiddos!!!

Had my yearly surprise licensing visit today! Not only did she pop in just as I was making lunch, I was also getting 9 littles into dry clothes after romping in the splash pad all morning! 🤪 She was here for about an hour and I'm elated to proclaim that I passed inspection with flying colors!! 🤗 Yay to Year #40!! Incidentally I received this card from one of my families yesterday! 🥹💕 I'm so blessed!!

Another Annual Playcare Sleepover in the books!! I love being able to enjoy this overnight with the littles!!

I could not say this better!! I struggle to convey to parents ALL the time how important it is to just leave their children to their play!!! I often times hear "what is that?" "tell me about what you're doing?" etc. This has NO BENEFIT to their learning and in actuality is a detriment! If you want to know why.... ask, I'll fill you in!! 😉

These are ALL the things kids should be doing... and ALL (which is NOTHING) the things parents should too!! 😉 Before you interject your thoughts on your child's play.... DON'T, just don't! You may think you are "helping them learn" but you are not. Take your needs/wants/ideas and find your own pile of dirt, sandbox, lump of playdoh and then keep asking yourself "What are you making? How many are there? What color is that? Is that an XYZ? etc....." Sound ridiculous... yup... unless THEY invite you in, you're not welcome and they're better off without you... get over it! Just let them play!!

THIS! THIS! A THOUSAND TIMES THIS! Worth your time to read through... this is why I am passionate about my program! I will say it again and again.... our current system is failing, and I'm frustrated with people who just go with the flow because "that's the way it's always been"! We HAVE to do better, especially in early education! Our future depends on it and your children deserve the chance to do their best!
