Our Why: We are bringing together local fashion designers ages 6-66. I have created space for local fashion designers to showcase their work and sell it too. If you’re unable to attend make a donation.

We are raising funds for inner city youth and teens to learn the trade skilks sewing and entrepreneurship. I founded Lovely’s Sewing & Arts Collective because I needed this platform when I was a kid. Kids griw up to be reflections of us. This is our why.

Coming means:

• Investing in the future of youth from underserved communities who deserve access to real trade skills

• Providing partial scholarships so youth can attend our Sunday sewing classes

• Supporting individuals experiencing homelessness by giving them access to repair and restore their clothing with dignity

• Ensuring that the youth in our Sunday program receive healthy, nourishing meals

• Paying our Sewing instructors a livable wage for the skills and mentorship they provide

• Expanding access to the homeless, entrepreneurship, and creative workforce development

• Creating a space where youth can dream bigger, think beyond limitations, and see new possibilities

• Strengthening community through creativity, connection, and shared purpose

If you have wanted your youth or teen to take classes at Lovely's Sewing & Arts Collective consider applying for this grant for them. They wil be able to take classes for 3 months. A total of 12 classes on Sundays from 2-5pm.

Sunday Fundays at Lovely's Sewing & Arts Collective www.lovelyssewing.org

Sundays at Lovely’s Sewing & Arts Collective are all about creativity, confidence, and community! Our Sunday Funday Sewing Classes take place every Sunday from 2–5 PM in the IDS Center on the Skyway level and are designed especially for youth ages 6–16.

Each monthly session includes four Sundays of guided learning and creative exploration. Every 3-hour class is thoughtfully structured to support both focus and fun:
• 30 minutes of healthy lunch & connection
• 30 minutes of gentle yoga and mindfulness to help kids reset and ground
• 2 full hours of hands-on sewing, where each child works at their own pace on projects that match their skill level and interests

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all class—each student is on their own sewing journey, building confidence, patience, and real trade skills along the way. Whether they’re brand new to sewing or already comfortable at a machine, students are supported, encouraged, and celebrated.

Sunday Funday is more than a class—it’s a creative reset, a confidence boost, and a space where kids learn how to turn imagination into something they can hold in their hands.
