The Young Professionals Program - Jóvenes Profesionales The Latinx Youth Leadership Conference is a part of the Latino Youth Program at La Oportunidad, a nonprofit organization located in Minneapolis, MN.

The Young Professionals Program (Jóvenes Profesionales) was created to help eliminate barriers Latino students face to complete their high school education, to pursue a post-secondary education, and to prepare them for the future. The Latinx Youth Leadership Conference is an annual conference, planned by and for Latino youth, consisting of workshops, presentations, and activities that promote yout

h development, leadership, and positive cultural identity. In this forum, Latino youth learn from others and share their perspectives and experiences regarding the peaceful development of their lives and community. 250 Latinx middle and high school youth attend this conference annually. What makes this a one-of-a-kind event is that it is planned by a leadership team of Latino high school students who meet weekly for 8 months to plan and develop all conference elements.
