Thanks to State Senator Jen McEwen who recently visited students and faculty at HOPE Clinic in Duluth. HOPE Clinic is a free, student-run clinic operated by pharmacy and medical students from the University of Minnesota Duluth. Located at the Damiano Center, the clinic provides no-cost care to uninsured and underinsured community members under the supervision of licensed physicians and pharmacists, while offering students hands-on, interprofessional clinical experience.

Dr. L’Aurelle Johnson selected as 2026 Bush Fellow 06/10/2026

The College of Pharmacy is proud to celebrate Dr. L’Aurelle Johnson, associate dean for C.A.R.E. and associate professor in the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, on being named a 2026 Bush Fellow.

“I want to help shape a future where Minnesota becomes a national and global model for equitable health care,” Johnson said. “This fellowship allows me to grow as a purpose-driven leader while advancing legacy-building impact through transformative scholarship, strategic service and community-centered change."

National Kidney Foundation and U.S. Pharmacy Organizations Call for Transition to Race-Free eGFR in Medication Decision-Making 06/05/2026

A patient’s race has historically been a variable in calculating their estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR)— or the rate at which the kidney filters out waste— disadvantaging Black patients in particular whose kidney functions may be overestimated. Professor Wendy St. Peter in the Department of Pharmaceutical Care & Health Systems is co-leading the National Kidney Foundation's Engagement Workgroup for a nationwide transition to race-free eGFR and more equitable patient care.
