The Future is Speaking: Youth Advisory Council Launch!

The Hopewell Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a paid leadership internship designed for young musicians and creative leaders who want to shape the future of music in our community.

The Council serves as a collaborative body that provides input on programming, events, outreach, and student engagement initiatives. Participants gain real-world leadership experience, develop professional skills, and help guide the direction of Hopewell’s artistic and community impact work.

This internship is structured, professional, and collaborative. Students are expected to actively participate, contribute ideas, and represent Hopewell with integrity and enthusiasm.

Hopewell was founded on a simple but powerful belief: everyone in North Minneapolis deserves the opportunity to learn, play, and thrive through music, regardless of income, background, or experience. Yet we know that for many families, access to music education is still out of reach. Instruments are expensive. Lessons are far away. School programs are shrinking. And too often, the creative brilliance of our community doesn’t get the support it deserves. That’s why Hopewell exists, to remove those barriers and create a welcoming, culturally-rooted space where our neighbors can express themselves, build confidence, and connect with one another through music.
