Today was "snow" problem for one of Dunwoody's autonomous snow plows. The winter weather was a welcome site for members of the Snow Devil team -- who used the snowy pileup to practice for next month's annual Autonomous Snow Plow Competition.
Congratulations to Radiologic Technology students Kenzie Hamsa, Best Patient Care; Adie Karst, Best Team Player; Jake Fair, Most Improved; Lisa Schepers, Clinical Excellence; and Ken Rose, Academic Achievement, who received awards at a ceremony held earlier this month r3ecognizing all of the fall's Radiologic Technology graduates!
For their Dynamics class, Mechanical Engineering students designed and built launchers to shoot rubber balls at targets placed at varying distances and heights. Student teams put their engineering skills to the test from analyzing motion geometry to calculating the energy needed to hit the mark. What a way to close out the semester!
That ending 😍! A perfect 60 point run for these students in the Automation & Controls Engineering program.
Happy Birthday Dunwoody College! Today we celebrate 110 years of technical education!
POV: You’re a first-year Engineering Drafting & Design student, and it’s race day! 🏎️ Watching our 3D-printed Derby cars zip across the track was such a thrill.
We took a trip to outer-space today — or so it seemed thanks to the group of area high school students who were on campus for the program. HUNCH is a project-based program for high school students who work to solve problems and create real-world product ideas for NASA. From conceptualizing ways to separate things like moon dust, pebbles and rocks from lunar ice, lunar ejecting robots, medication packaging for the International Space Station, a virtual reality nature simulator for astronauts who are on long trips in outer space, and even a lunar camper, to name a few, these future scientists and engineers left us star-struck.

There seems to be a theme! Last week it was putters created by our Engineering Drafting & Design students. Today its a mini-golf hole designed and built by second-year Electrical Construction & Maintenance students Paul Wlazlo, Rafael McDevitt Kraljic, Nicholas Lau, and Sam Dennis as part of their AC & DC Machines & Controls final project.
