One year ago, Unfolded came into the world.
USA Today bestseller. Publishers Weekly National Best Seller. Used by leaders and teams worldwide for the kind of identity-level work most leadership development never touches.
We're marking the anniversary by saying plainly who it's for: leaders doing the inner work, people mid-transition, and anyone who needs permission to dream again.

You're good at your work. Well respected in your company or field. Somewhere along the way, you built a version of yourself for your role that runs automatically. That's no small thing - it took years to build, and it works. The room gets what it needs from you. Reliably, skillfully, and without much visible effort anymore.
But maybe you've recently noticed a few questions bubbling to the surface: Is this really who I am? Is there a different shape I'm longing for my life to take?
That question came up enough times in our work that it became one of the reasons we wrote Unfolded. The book turns 1 year old on June 4th. If those questions have shown up for you recently, even briefly, we think it's worth sitting with.

We often treat the hardest chapters of a leader’s life as the parts to survive, move past, and eventually shelve somewhere out of sight. The restructuring that nearly broke them. The long stretch where nothing they tried seemed to gain traction. The unexpected job loss or season of uncertainty that forced them to reexamine who they were outside of a title or role.
But if you spend enough time with someone, you begin to realize those experiences never really disappear.
They show up in the way a person leads, in how they read a room, in the questions they ask, and in their ability to sense when something is off long before anyone names it aloud. Most people would call that intuition. We think it has more to do with what a person has lived through and what those experiences taught them to notice.
In origami, the creases never fully leave the paper. Even when it takes on an entirely new shape, the folds remain part of its structure.
That idea sits at the heart of Unfolded, which turns one year old next week. If you’re in a season where the harder chapters of your story feel especially close to the surface, we think the book may resonate with you.

One of the most surprising insights from episode 920 of The Leadership Vision Podcast comes from an executive leader who told us that the most important part of Unfolded wasn’t the transformation of the characters — it was the playground itself.
Amid uncertainty and pressure, he began to see his team differently. Not as people to fix or change, but as unique individuals learning to navigate the same environment together.
Sometimes leadership growth starts when we stop trying to reshape people and start understanding the context in which they live and work.
