🎓 13 years ago, I earned my DU (Diplôme Universitaire) in Teaching French as a Foreign Language from l’Université du Mans!
✨ It was a lot of hard work, but it gave me the tools to become a better teacher, and I got to meet some incredible people along the way.
👩🏻🎓Since then, I’ve continued learning through teacher trainings every year, discovering new techniques, resources, and ways to run a French language school. I truly enjoy being a student as much as a teacher 👩🏻🏫
I’ve been lucky to learn from some amazing people. Merci à mes formateurs préférés: .fle 🙌
🇫🇷 Here’s to lifelong learning, French, and all the wonderful people who inspire us ✨

This week, we got to escape the MN winter and celebrate both my daughter’s birthday and mine at the beach ☀️🌊
Du soleil, des palmiers et du sable blanc… un vrai petit coin de paradis 🏝️
Un grand merci to our wonderful and most generous friends Rhoda and Greg for making it happen. We are so grateful! 💙
Je vous retrouve en classe à partir de lundi. À bientôt✌🏻

Merci beaucoup à Célie (pictured here with student David) 💙
While I’m enjoying some time off with my family, celebrating my daughter’s birthday and mine 🎉, Célie is taking wonderful care of my groups this week. I’m so grateful to work alongside such a dedicated team of teachers.
My students are truly in the best hands 🙌
Merci encore, Célie, for keeping the French flowing at Cōzette while I’m away 🇫🇷✨

Last week, we hosted an Atelier Crêpes at Cōzette, and what a deliciously fun afternoon it was 🥞✨
It was such a joy to share this special part of Breton culture with my students. In Brittany, crêpes are more than just food, they’re tradition, community, and celebration all in one.
I was so impressed by how quickly everyone mastered the art of crêpe-making — from pouring the batter to that confident wrist swirl with “la rozell” 👏 And then came the best part… la dégustation!
We enjoyed plenty of crêpes salées (savory) and crêpes sucrées (sweet), and I absolutely loved seeing how creative everyone got with their toppings. From classic ham & cheese to inventive sweet combinations, there were some true chefs in the room!
Fun fact of the day: thanks to our student Tom, we learned that Swedish pancakes are made very similarly to French crêpes. Who knew?! 🇸🇪
And merci to Fred from for sourcing delicious French cider from Normandy especially for our event. The perfect pairing🍎🥂
Merci to everyone who came and made it such a warm, joyful, and tasty celebration 💙

A couple of weeks ago, we had the joy of hosting my daughter’s Girl Scout troop at Cōzette for their monthly meeting 💚
It was SO fun watching these young entrepreneurs in action, practicing their cookie sales pitch, refining their best selling techniques, and brainstorming big ideas for what they want to do with the money they raise from the Girl Scout Cookie sale 🍪 💴
💗 I also love how they suggested supporting local immigrant families sheltering in the Twin Cities, through their season donation/cookie share.
✨ Our classroom may be a space for learning French, but at its heart, it’s a space for community, and moments like this remind me why I love what we’ve built here.
🍪 If you love Girl Scout Cookies and would like to help their troop reach their goal, click on the following link to read their cookie story, and place an order 💚 https://digitalcookie.girlscouts.org/scout/dessa658818

January is finally over, and we couldn’t be happier! Especially because today is le 2 février, aka La Chandeleur, aka crêpe day 🥞✨
💙 At Cōzette, this is exactly the kind of day we love: gathering, sharing simple joys, and finding comfort in small traditions, even more so when times feel heavy.
🤍 Today, we’ll be making crêpes, eating crêpes, and we invite you to do the same from wherever you are
❤️ Because honestly… crêpes make everything better, even if it’s just for one day.
✨ Stay tuned, a crêpe-making workshop is coming soon! ✨
Until then, prenez soin de vous, soyez prudents, et mangez des crêpes 🥞💛

Demain, on fait grève ✊🏼
Cōzette will be closed tomorrow, on Friday, Jan 23rd.
We support the right to strike and believe in the power of collective action. « La solidarité est notre plus grande force ». Solidarity is our greatest strength 🙌🏼
No work. No school. No shopping.
We stand in solidarity with our immigrant community.
Stay safe and warm ❤️

2026 is definitely off to a very dystopian start 😮💨 So we wanted to share what’s been bringing us joy over the past two weeks ✨
1. This wonderful group of women returning to Cōzette tomorrow for their advanced conversation class! Some have been learning with us for over three years and we’ve all became friends 🤗
2. Delicious homemade pastries brought to class by our student Robert 🥐
3. Kitty hugs 🐾
4. Messages of support from our students, near and far 💌
5. Seeing our students show up every week, united by their love for the French language and culture 🇫🇷
6. Our community coming together and supporting one another ✊🏼
Grateful for all of you, today and always ❤️Stay safe!

Our hearts are heavy as we witness what is happening around Minneapolis and in our community 💔
We are deeply saddened and holding space for all those affected.
As an immigrant-owned small business, Cōzette stands in solidarity with our immigrant and refugee neighbors. Creating a welcoming, inclusive, and safe space for everyone is at the very heart of what we do.
We also believe deeply in the power of community. Having lived through the pandemic and the events that followed the murder of George Floyd, we know just how strong and resilient the sense of community in Minneapolis truly is. It has been heartwarming to see people show up for one another, support their neighbors, and choose care in difficult moments.
Let’s stand united. Love and kindness are stronger than fear and hate 🤍
And always remember, vous êtes tou·te·s les bienvenu·e·s ici ❤️
We look forward to seeing you in class and offering, even briefly, a moment of connection, care, and a little French escape within our classroom.
Avec solidarité et bienveillance 🫶🏼
