Our second graders celebrated a year full of growth, learning, and accomplishments with a special trip to Camp Learned A Lot! Surrounded by "nature," students enjoyed time together reflecting on all they achieved throughout the school year while making lasting memories with classmates and teachers.

Science was in action during the last days of school! Our middle school students took their learning outdoors as they explored chemical reactions through hands-on experiments. Using baking soda and vinegar to inflate balloons and Diet Coke and Mentos to create towering geysers, students experienced science concepts in a memorable and exciting way.

We were grateful to welcome three outstanding seniors from Saint Thomas Academy to our school community at the end of the school year. They jumped right inβbuilding connections with our students, supporting teachers, and lending a hand with important end-of-year projects.
Their enthusiasm, leadership, and willingness to serve made a meaningful impact in a short amount of time. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!

School may be out for summer, but weβre reminiscing about all the wonderful spring happenings in preschool! πΈπ¦
Our preschoolers explored the amazing stages of a butterfly and learned all about metamorphosis. They enjoyed butterfly books and hands-on discovery at the science center before making butterfly wings flutter with a fun static electricity experiment. Students also spent time creating and exploring a whimsical fairy garden full of imagination and wonder.
There are still limited openings available in our preschool program, where play is at the center of all learning and curiosity grows every day! ππ

Our third graders spent the end of the school year engaged in animal research as part of an interdisciplinary unit! πΎπ Students explored fascinating facts, strengthened their research and presentation skills, and prepared special presentations to share their learning. We were so proud of their hard work, creativity, and curiosity throughout the project!

Breakfast with the Principal was a stack of fun! π₯ Mr. Berry flipped pancakes for 20 lucky students while Eagle CafΓ© was filled with restaurant vibes, smiles, and great conversation. What a special way to celebrate our students and build community together! π¦

Our 6th graders hit a home run with their trip to the Twins game! βΎοΈ From cheering in the stands to making memories together outside the classroom, it was a day full of fun, teamwork, and school spirit. Experiences like these help build the strong friendships and positive school community we value at OLP! πβ€οΈ

Our 6th graders proudly hosted their annual Mythology Day, bringing gods, goddesses, and mythical monsters to life for parents, students, and visitors! β‘ποΈ Throughout the event, students showcased their interdisciplinary mythology unit through presentations, projects, costumes, and storytelling β one of three βThrough Timeβ units that middle school students experience at OLP.
It was wonderful to see students combine history, literature, creativity, and public speaking in such an engaging and meaningful way. We are so proud of their hard work and enthusiasm!
OLP is still accepting applications for middle school students looking for a school with rigorous curriculum, positive relationships, and a community where students are challenged, supported, and known. π

Our second graders had a wonderful day exploring Gibbs Farm! πΎπ Students stepped back in time as they learned about pioneer and Dakota life in Minnesota through hands-on activities, historic buildings, farm animals, and interactive demonstrations. It was a meaningful way to bring history to life outside the classroom!
Experiences like these are made possible through Marathon 2025, with funds directly supporting enrichment opportunities for our students. Thank you for helping provide memorable, hands-on learning experiences for OLP students! π
