The Martin Luther King, Jr. advising program for the University of Minnesota's College of Liberal Arts

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Program and StoryArk is launching the residency, Envisioning Our Liberation: Youth Forums for Advocacy, Kinship, & Storytelling. We will host three youth-centered forums throughout the academic year, uniting high school students, collegiate student organizations, and leaders from the Rev. Pláticas is a weekly group for Latina/e/o/x students to discuss topics like colorism, language, belonging, indigeneity, gender roles, religion, immigration, and current events. It provides a safe, inclusive space that embraces the diverse identities and experiences within the Latinx community.

The first meeting for Fall 2024 is on September 24th in Appleby Hall. The group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 PM in a hybrid format, either in person (with snacks provided) or via Zoom.
