Are you wondering where your piece of the design pie is? If so, you're stuck in a scarcity mindset. (swipe left for my top abundance producing beliefs)
Scarcity mindset comes from the belief that there isn't enough for everyone. That there is a singular pie and that if one person gets a slice there is less for everyone else. Below I share three common scarcity beliefs I hear from interior designers. If one rings true, you'll know if you're stuck in a scarcity mindset.
1. There are only so many projects to go around.
2. There might not be more coming (clients, projects, cash).
3. I need to take advantage of this busy time.
Don't beat yourself up if these sound all too familiar. The first step to getting out of scarcity mindset, and stepping into abundance, is awareness.
Beliefs are optional which means we can change the ones we hold, even if we've had them for a long time. To cultivate abundance practice one of the following beliefs. Intentionally direct your attention to what you want to create and what you want more of in your business.
1. I create clients.
2. The better it gets, the better it gets.
3. Her success is evidence that I can do it too.
4. This is just the beginning.
5. There is no rush.
To cultivate abundance, put your focus on how the more value and expertise is added to the world the pie just keeps getting bigger. Maybe that designer signs a client but in them being busy it opens an opportunity for you to work with someone that's an even better fit. Not to mention the more we are out in the world creating projects the more abundance we create in the industries related with our trade.
Tell me in the comments....which belief are you going to practice this week?
