Our IHI UMN interprofessional student teams are working on quality improvement projects this spring with community partners including M Health Fairview, the Community-University Health Care Center, and the Envision Community. Meanwhile, our leadership team is expanding in order to engage more students in quality improvement education and local health improvement efforts in years to come. If you are a health organization in Minneapolis/St. Paul, consider partnering with us to engage IHI UMN student teams as consultants on quality improvement projects at your organization. We look forward to expanding our community involvement and continuing to provide health professional students with experiential learning opportunities in quality improvement. We have a record number of IHI UMN members this year - 37! Here is the breakdown per health professional program: 24(!) MHA, 7 Medicine, 5 MPH, 1 Dentistry. All members completed the IHI Basic Certificate in Quality & Safety as a prerequisite to membership. They will each have the opportunity to apply their foundational knowledge to QI projects this spring semester as part of interdisciplinary student teams. Welcome, IHI UMN 2020-2021 members!

Our IHI UMN students are working hard this winter break on earning their Basic Certificate in Quality & Safety. Students will have the opportunity to apply their learning this spring to quality improvement projects at local healthcare organizations.
