In August 2016, an opportunity came to me to take over a small local blogging group after the leader moved out of state. That decision would impact the rest of my career direction and this month we celebrate 10 years of Twin Cities Collective!

From a small blogging group to events, workshops, a podcast, annual awards with thousands of voters, to virtual events during covid, and now in our current form, the Twin Cities Collective Networking Newsletter a 2x a month local events newsletter, I can't believe it's been 10 years. A lot of work, a lot of effort, a lot of people involved behind the scenes to get to this point.

I'm so proud of Twin Cities Collective and today our latest newsletter issue goes live!

I’m launching a new video series: Collective Connections!
🎥🤝

As I refocus on growing the Twin Cities Collective Networking Newsletter, I want to spotlight what matters most: the people, organizations, and networking events bringing the Twin Cities community together.

For the first installment, I attended my second Idea Jam with Innovate MN

The concept is simple—and incredibly effective: a group comes together to help a local business work through a challenge, brainstorming ideas on sticky notes. Those real, human insights are then organized and consolidated with AI.

Community, creativity, technology—and gelato. What’s not to love?

This event supported my friend Summer Song and her sauce business, VARY | Your Daily Celebration . It was such a cool experience, and I’m excited to share more events like it through this series.

The newest issue of the newsletter is out now, featuring Twin Cities networking events happening August 1–15:

Minnesota is full of “nice” — and short on “connected.”

A subscriber messaged me recently to say she’d discovered events she never would’ve found on her own, and walked away with real business connections from them.

That’s the whole point of what I built.

Ten years ago I started Twin Cities Collective because I noticed the same pattern over and over: talented people, isolated in their own bubble, not knowing the room full of the right people was one Google search away.

Now it’s a newsletter that goes out the 1st and 15th, over 6,000 people read it, and it’s just curated Twin Cities events — no fluff.

If you’re new to town, between jobs, starting something, or just tired of doing this alone: subscribe (free). Want more? The $50/year membership adds monthly workshops on business and marketing.

Your network isn’t a nice-to-have. It’s the thing that catches you when everything else changes.

If you are asking “whatever happened to Twin Cities Collective?” — here’s the truth:
We didn’t disappear… we evolved.

Back in 2016, this started as a blogger + events community. And for years, we hosted events all over the Twin Cities.

But in 2024, I () made a shift:Instead of hosting everything ourselves, I started focusing on something way more useful—
👉 finding and sharing the BEST events already happening across the Twin Cities.

Because the reality is… there are SO many good things going on.
Most people just don’t know where to look.

That’s where our Substack comes in.

Twice a month (1st + 15th), I send a curated list of:• networking events• creative meetups• business + entrepreneur gatherings• community events you probably haven’t heard of
And now over 5,000 locals are reading it 👀

If you’ve been feeling like:“I want to meet people”“I want to get out more”“I wish I knew what’s going on”

You’re not alone—and this is exactly why I built it.
We’re just not posting everything on Instagram anymore.
It’s all happening on Substack now.

Freezing temps, warm community. 🧣✨

Last night I headed to in Minneapolis for the Clouds and Waves Social Hour — hosted by Cirrus North, Ride the Next Wave, and Communiful.

Sharing my new event recap series once again with “Come Network with Me Twin Cities”!

What I loved about this event:
It brought together so many familiar faces from the Startup Week and Communiful communities
The vibe was super relaxed: come as you are, grab a name tag, and just talk to people
Malcolm Yards is the perfect backdrop — tons of food options and space to roam
There was even a photo booth (which I almost never see at events), so we snapped some fun pics to remember the night.
It felt like the best blend of meeting new people and reconnecting with old friends.

If you’re looking for more ways to plug into the local scene, the Communiful app is packed with events, and they’re hosting things every month plus sharing other local happenings. https://app.joincommuniful.com

And if you like hearing about events like this and staying in the loop on what’s happening around the Twin Cities, you’ll probably love my Twin Cities Collective Substack — I share more there every other week. 💌 https://twincitiescollective.com

Grateful for this community and nights like this. 💛

The Twin Cities Collective Best of Awards has officially retired 💛

For the last 7 years, the first week of December for me = launching the Best of Awards.

What started in 2018 as a fun idea to get people to a holiday party turned into:

✨ Fan-voted awards for local bloggers, creators, and then small businesses

✨ A 150+ person event (one of the best nights of my life)

✨ Years of celebrating this amazing Twin Cities community — even through the pandemic

But over time, things shifted.

I got burnt out on hosting events.

My work moved more into building my own online brand and business.

And the awards started to feel more like a popularity contest than the cozy, community-focused celebration they were at the beginning.

So after the 2023 awards, I made the really hard decision to retire them.

I’ve been pretty quiet on this account for a while, but behind the scenes I’ve been asking:

“What does Twin Cities Collective look like now in this new season?”

Here’s where we’ve landed:

📬 Substack newsletter – Twice a month, I share local networking events and ways for entrepreneurs to plug into the Twin Cities community. https://twincitiescollective.com

🎥 “Come Network With Me – Twin Cities” – A new video series where I go to networking events, grab some quick clips, and give you a little recap so you can see what they’re like before you go.

I realized I love:

- Going to events
- Sharing them
- Filming and editing videos (it’s literally my full-time job 😅)

…more than I love planning and hosting big events myself.

If you’ve ever voted, attended, or won a Best of Award — THANK YOU. 🥹

I know some of you still have your certificates hanging in your offices and that means the world to me.

If you want to follow along with this new chapter:

👉 Subscribe to our Substack (link in bio)

👉 Follow us on TikTok at

👉 And come hang with me on LinkedIn (Jenna Redfield) — that’s my main platform these days

New season, same heart for the Twin Cities community. Thanks for being here. 💛

Come Network with Me, Twin Cities! 🌆

Back again with my new series highlighting the events I’m going to and the communities I’m a part of.

This week I hit a few different networking events, including a special community night at supporting and youth experiencing homelessness and crisis. We packed blessing bags, met amazing people, and then relaxed in the saunas — such a good mix of giving back and unwinding.

Huge thanks to my friends Easton, .fernaldand for coming along and supporting. 💛

If you want to keep up with what I’m up to and find local events to plug into, make sure you’re on my twice‑a‑month newsletter where I share all the Twin Cities happenings and community spotlights. 💌
