Lizzy Erickson is a Retail Merchandising student at UMN graduating in the spring. This year she had the opportunity to be an Assistant Merchant intern with Kohl’s. Below, she gives us insight into her experience before, during, and after the internship completed!
Her journey started with an application through Handshake that followed a meeting with Kohl’s at a career fair, next she completed a phone interview, followed by two 15-minute interviews, then completed the final three-round interview.
She enjoyed that as an intern with Kohl’s she could do purposeful and helpful work that included summarizing weekly department reporting, competitive shopping through analyzing pricing and marketing trends, executing pricing strategies, and analyzing and presenting best selling recaps to management.
Reflecting on her experience, she loved being an Assistant Merchant intern and has since accepted a full time position as an Assistant Merchant with the brand. Congrats Lizzy, keep up the great work!
