Here is a recent webinar Stuart gave on the classic Taijiquan text The Mental Elucidation of the Thirteen Kinetic Postures. This text is one of the three most important writings of Taijiquan, along with the Taijiquan Treatise and the Taijiquan Classic, both attributed to Zhang Sanfeng.

We hope you've had a lovely holiday season and we're wishing you a wonder-filled year ahead!

Check out the new Taoist calender at the new Sanctuary of Tao shop, and you can get yours there today! We created these calenders for you, our community, so you can keep track of the Taoist holidays and auspicious days, the changing seasons and cycles of the moon, and the Taoist astrology and I Ching correlations throughout the year. This helps you see the year through a Taoist lens, time your cultivation, and work with the changing energies throughout the year. We hope you'll enjoy it!

Taoism focuses on the development and freedom of the individual, seeing non-conformity, non-aggression, and non-interference in the doings of others as the ideal conduct of a human being. Frugality, mindfulness, and compassion are other ideals. Taoism is simple and relies only on a person being what Chuang-tzu called, "naturally just so" and the "uncarved block." -Stuart Alve Olson, from his translation and commentary on The Jade Emperor's Mindseal Classic

To the Taoist, immortality is not necessarily a secret rite of passage. It is instead a natural spiritual quest of every individual from the moment of birth. These great sages of old understood clearly that within every person lies a primal need for freedom of body and spirit, to live in joy and harmony, and to maintain youthfulness even during old age." -Stuart Alve Olson, from his translation and commentary on the Jade Emperor's Mindseal Classic.

This is a living mind, pulsating and expanding with creative energy. Mortals think your little mind is grand, but the great mind is under your feet. She dictates the weather, the movement of the planet, and the stars around her. A living thing the Mother is. Stop looking for something outside of you for fulfillment. What if you looked away from your inventions and really became one with Mother Earth? Cherish her, be a caretaker, express kindness for all the little creatures. These are things we ignore but are the very reason we exist. We have the power to change the world. If only we learn to use our minds for kindness instead of satisfying the ego" T.White, the Big Sur Manuscript
