Heyy Mi Gente ✨ To finish up our intern appreciation posts we could not forget about our wonderful spring community interns, Mia & Noemi! They have been an integral part of the community team and we can’t wait for you to learn more about them! :

Mia - “Hi everyone! My name is Mia, and I am a Freshman majoring in Cellular Organismal Physiology. These days I spend most of my time studying, but in my free time I love to play pickleball and be with my friends. I really suck at finishing shows, but my favorite is When Life Gives You Tangerines. I am a Redbull lover, specifically the white peach flavor. I love going on walks and listening to music, one of my all time favorite songs is Only by Leehi. I have had a wonderful time with Mi Gente this year, and I’m excited for what’s still to come.”

Noemi - “Hello, my name is Noemi! I am a second-year student majoring in computer science and minoring in UX design. A few things about me: I love playing pickleball, and I enjoy hiking, paddle boarding, and occasionally running. I’m one of the interns for Co Community, and I’m so excited to be part of Mi Gente!”

Heyy Mi Gente 🌺 As the year wraps up we wanted to take some time to shout out our amazing spring interns, Dani, Adrian, and Alexa! We appreciate all the wonderful work they have done for the advocacy, admin, and marketing teams. We can’t wait for you to know a little more about them! :

Dani - “My name is Daniela, I go by Dani, and am a Sophomore at the U. I love going to concerts and action, heist movies. I plan to go to law school and teach later in my life!”

Adrian - “My name is Adrian Chavez, I am a Sophomore interested in the Inter-College Program (create your own major). I’m drawn to dystopian films and I’ve been loving some alt R&B. I’m also a peer mentor for Presidents’ Emerging Scholars (PES) and a brother of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc.”

Alexa - “Hi everyone! My name is Alexa. I am currently a sophomore and studying psychology. Some of my favorite things to do in my free time consist of going on walks, going to new art museums, and trying new foods. I’m looking forward to learning, collaborating, and growing in the field of marketing.”

To start, we want to give a major shout out and thank you to our CCC interns, Nancy & Diego! 💙 We can’t wait for you to learn a little more about them:

Nancy - “Hello my name is Nancy Fernandez and I am a sophomore studying Accounting. I love to hang out with friends, travel, hike, and connecting with people on LinkedIn: Nancy Fernandez.”

Diego - “I am a freshman in Biology and I love listening to music, specially r&b, hip hop, and shoegaze, and playing music. I go to concerts and travel to other places if my wallet can handle it and I love watching movies, tacos de birria, and Mario kart. I am excited to be an intern for CCC and meet cool people!”

Hola Mi Gente!! Join us April 24th for Paso Al Futuro!

🎓Paso al Futuro is an event created to celebrate and acknowledge the graduating members of the Mi Gente Community. Being a Hispanic identifying student on a predominantly white campus is a major achievement, and this wonderful celebration was created to honor that journey. Throughout the night, we will be holding recognitions of our graduating members by inviting them to our event so they can be recognized in front of our other general members. We appreciate everyone in the community and any graduating senior is welcome to be honored. The event will consist of a dinner catered from Michelandia, speeches to recognize students, games, and community bonding.

Noche de Estrellas is more than just an awards event, it is a space to honor our culture, uplift one another, and celebrate the many personalities and nationalities that make our community shine brightly 💫
