Camp Minnehaha had a fantastic first week of summer! Our campers kicked things off with an exciting field trip to Slick City, where they spent the day conquering thrilling slides and making unforgettable memories. The fun is just getting started—we still have 8 weeks of summer ahead and plenty of camp options available. Visit our page on the school website to learn more and register for the adventures still to come! ☀️🎉🏕️

Friday mornings = DQ mornings! 🍦☀️ One of our campers' favorite summer traditions is our weekly walk to Dairy Queen. The kids burn off energy on the walk, enjoy ice cream for breakfast, practice ordering independently, and build real-life money counting skills along the way. It's the perfect mix of fun, learning, and summer memories—and always a highlight of the week! 😎

Our annual 4th Grade Bike Trip was one for the books! 🚲☀️
Each year, fourth graders set out on this beloved Minnehaha tradition to explore the local history and beauty of our neighborhood. Students biked together to iconic Minneapolis landmarks, including Minnehaha Falls and Fort Snelling, stopping along the way to see memorials, enjoy the natural environment, and discover the city in a hands-on way.
For some students, the trip also marked a major personal milestone. Every year, a few fourth graders begin the season feeling nervous about riding—or still learning how to ride a bike. Thanks to the faithful support of Minnehaha alum Heidi (Douglass) Carlson '96, who comes back year after year to help students gain confidence on two wheels, those students are able to join their classmates for the full adventure.
By the end of the ride, students had covered miles of scenic trails with teamwork, courage, and plenty of laughter. And of course, the perfect way to celebrate a successful bike trip is a good old-fashioned Dilly Bar! 🍦💛
We love seeing Minnehaha alumni continue to invest in the next generation of students.

In this student commencement speech, Kyle reflects on discovering his gifts, finding belonging, and learning what it means to cultivate potential.
