Augsburg Greenhouse

It's like our own orchid show here in the campus greenhouse! Fortunately First Friday is coming up this week, on February 6, so you'll be able to enjoy the many blooms.
Come hang out on Friday afternoon to beat the winter cold and learn about our plant collection!

It's First Friday on November 7, and the spectacular orchid 𝘝𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢 𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢 is in bloom. Endemic to Mindanao in the Philippines, this rare orchid grows epiphytically on the trunks of dipterocarp trees. It is endangered because of habitat loss and over-collecting

Come see this fascinating species and many more on Friday from noon to 3pm. The greenhouse is on the 4th floor of the Hagfors Center.

Fall is here, and the greenhouse is bursting with texture and color! Join us for the penultimate First Friday of the semester this week!

The greenhouse doors will be open from noon to 3pm on Friday, November 7. The greenhouse is located on the fourth floor of the Hagfors Center. Come explore our collection of hundreds of fascinating plant species from all over the world!

Fall 2025 is finally here, and we are so eager to share with you what we've got growing on!

The Augsburg University Greenhouse grows an appreciation for and deeper understanding of the plants of our planet. Our schedule of First Friday events allows you to visit our plant collection in person. On the first Friday of each month, the greenhouse on the rooftop of the Hagfors Center will open its doors to the campus community from noon to 3pm.

The dates for all our First Fridays until the end of the year are as follows, so add them to your calendar!
