We bring artists and audiences together to exchange ideas and learn from one another.
We invest in emerging makers, ensuring they have the support to keep going.
We Champion American Craft.
Thank you for your support during Giving Week 2026.

San Francisco-based Iraqi American ceramist Maryam Yousif is interested in the things people carry with them when they leave a homeland behind. In her family’s case, that means her grandmother’s earrings, a matching set of rings worn by her mother and aunt, and a handful of other keepsakes considered important enough to pack. These objects form the emotional core of Above Earth, Under the Rays of the Sun, Yousif’s exhibition at The Pit in Los Angeles (), on view through June 17. Link in bio to read the full article. 👋 Hi new followers, this one’s for you! We thought we’d take a minute to tell you about ACC and invite you to learn more.

In short, we believe that making matters. And we’ve been championing American craft and its makers for 80+ years.

Today, we serve as a national convener and connector for the craft ecosystem, linking makers, craft appreciators, and organizations to strengthen the field as a whole. Through our fairs, events, storytelling, and programs, we create visibility and economic opportunity for makers while also fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of craft.

We need you to get involved! Visit the link in bio to see upcoming events, read the latest stories, browse a national calendar of craft events, discover opportunities, or to explore the most recent additions to our passport to craft membership. .now

Ahead of the country’s semiquincentennial this summer, 45 artists fanned out across Philadelphia, diving deep into museum archives, rare book collections, historic gardens, and libraries, looking at previous commemorations of the Declaration of Independence as inspiration for new work. The result is Radical Americana, a series of 22 exhibitions marking the 250th anniversary of the country’s founding. The exhibitions run through July 5 at various sites around the city, including the Free Library of Philadelphia (), the Museum for Art in Wood (), Biello Martin Studio (.biello), and the Cliveden historic estate ().

Organized by The Clay Studio (), Radical Americana called on artists to create work addressing what the Declaration of Independence means to them, informed by research about arts and culture from other milestone anniversary years. Last week, the Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation announced the winners of its 2026 Awards in Craft. The annual honor from the San Francisco–based foundation recognizes artists who, according to Maxwell/Hanrahan, are both tradition-minded and innovative—who exhibit “a unique and visionary approach to material-based practice, stewardship of cultural traditions, and craft’s potential to connect people, places and ideas.” Link in bio to explore the work of these talented artists. May 21, 1943 was the day the charter for the American Craftsmen's Cooperative Council was accepted by the State of New York Department of Education. The ACCC was the result of a merger between Aileen Osborn Webb's Handcraft Cooperative League of America (which operated the America House retail shop and Craft Horizons magazine) and Anne Morgan's American Handicraft Council which was focused on craft education. The two organizations merged in 1943 with Webb taking the ACCC helm. While the organizations that would become ACC existed prior to 1943, last week marks 83 years as the institution we know today.
