FALL SKIJORING CLINIC: Sunday October 6th

Want to learn new ways to stay active year-round with your dog? At this clinic, featuring K-9 Powered Sports, you will learn about equipment, commands, training techniques and trail etiquette for a variety of dog-powered recreation activities including skijoring, canicross and more. Equipment will be provided for you and your dog to go on a guided trail walk/run. For dogs and owners ready to take the next step with any of the activities featured, there will be experts onsite to fit you and your dog for equipment available for purchase. There will also be information provided about future clinics and events for those that want more instruction on specific activities. Dogs must be kept on a six-foot non-retractable leash and should be friendly around others. Day of registration is available if space allows.

Who’s excited for Fall SKIJORING Class registration!
Sunday, Oct 15th 9:00AM-12:00PM

Stay active this winter by cross-country skiing with your dog. Learn about equipment, commands, training techniques and trail etiquette. Ask experienced skijorers questions, discuss trails and go on a guided, on-foot training session with your dog. Equipment provided for class; K-9 Powered Sports volunteers will fit harnesses and belts for those wishing to purchase equipment from Jack and the Pack LLC. Dogs must be kept on a six-foot non-retractable leash and should be friendly around others. Maximum of one dog per handler. Reservations required two days prior to class.

K9 Powered Sports -K9PS & will be offering a class with the help of

Skijoring is a winter sport that combines cross-country skiing and dog-power. It's a cooperative sport that employs the athletic ability of both dog and skier. Join instructors on-snow in this beginner level class and learn the basics needed for skijoring including equipment, drills, training, and where to go skijoring around the Twin Cities.

Participants are expected to have some experience cross-country skiing, provide their own skis, skijoring equipment and dog. Maximum of one dog per handler. Skijoring equipment will also be available for fitting and testing purposes. You may also purchase gear through Jack and the Pack. Reservations required 24 hours prior. This program is outdoors; please dress for the weather.
