For 25 years, Suzy Ferguson has helped Twin Cities college and high school students in mathematics and test preparation. Minneapolis and St.

Paul students know that Suzy's math skills are spot on - handling up through at least Calculus 3 with ease. But, the best kept secret is that it's her 25 years as an innovative, empathetic educator that really helps you move your grade. In additional to mathematics tutoring with Suzy, Ferguson Tutoring-trained contractors tutor advanced biology, physics, chemistry, statistics, and ACT prep for high school students city-wide.

The SAT is dropping its essay section and subject matter tests to streamline during the pandemic. 01/19/2021

This is a huge move for college admissions.

Standardized testing puts immense pressure on students at a time when they are working hard to maintain grades, show leadership in extracurriculars, and find time to keep connection with family and friends. For our students to build study and lifestyle habits that will propel them to be confident and successful adults, we need to continue to remove these redundant exams. While they were once believed to showcase students' academic abilities not seen in transcripts and coursework, the exams no longer universally provide those distinctions.

Parents: take a minute to talk to your students about this. For many, they may be concerned or even scared about how they will round out their application. Have a non-planning, validating conversation first and then a brainstorming session together to put your student at ease and remind them of all they have to offer.

Be careful that your brainstorm does not send them thinking that they have a new to-do list that they must immediately jump on. It's simply a short bullet list to visually remind them of all the awesome that they are :)

Due to a family tragedy that hit just before Covid-19 came to MN, Ferguson Tutoring has been unable to respond to many of you--and I am very sorry.

I am working to get our website back up and communication back running. I anticipate tutoring to be available, either virtually (something I've been doing for years!) or in person, by June 1.

Thank you for your patience. Please continue to email your requests for tutoring. As of now, Minnetonka Community Ed is still planning to run our ACT class in August, taught by me.
