Hello everyone,
Graduate students are busy all the time, but sometimes we need a breather after a long day of work. Why not join the Graduate section of the Society of Women Engineers (GradSWE) for a Boba Break?
We'll be bringing in some rejuvenating bubble tea to share. Come learn about GradSWE, meet other grad students, and take a Boba break!

Last but not least in our series, meet our Departmental Outreach Lead, Noelle! Noelle (she/her) is a 3rd year MS student in Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering. Previously, she received her B.S. in Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering also from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 2018. She joined GradSWE because she liked the SWE mission, and wanted to be involved in a community that stood by it too. Fun fact, she enjoys celebrating national food holidays!

Previously, she received her B.S. in Computer Science also from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 2021. She joined GradSWE to connect with more women in STEM. Fun fact, she loves traveling, and the next place on her bucket list is Switzerland!

March 20 is the International Day of Happiness! Sometimes we want to send words of encouragement or compliments to the people around us, but we may be a little shy to deliver the message in person. SWE is happy to help send virtual messages to friends, colleagues, and even professors in your life. You can also choose to send the message anonymously. For our fourth , meet our Professional Development Lead, Yutong! Yutong (she/her) is a 5th year PhD candidate in Chemical Engineering. Previously, she received her B.S. in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017. She joined GradSWE to build a network with SWE members and contribute directly to helping women in STEM. Fun fact, she wants to own a farm!

For our third , meet our Social Media Lead, Amarachi! Amarachi (she/her) is a 1st year MS student in Robotics. Previously, she received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2020. She joined GradSWE to network with other female graduate student engineers at the U of M. Fun fact, the robotics girls team that she coaches for FIRST Tech Challenge (Robotics competition) made it to the STATE Finals (she’s low-key excited). Congratulations to Amarachi and her team!

Over the next few weeks, UMN GradSWE will be posting features of our leadership team! For our first , meet our GradSWE Committee Chair, Kristine! Kristine (she/her) is a 2nd year PhD student in Chemical Engineering. Previously, she received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering and her M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Drexel University in 2020. She joined GradSWE to continue her SWE involvement and find a supportive community of graduate students. Fun fact, she loves experimenting with new air fryer recipes!

This Thursday, there is a SWE event to connect students (graduate, undergraduate, etc) and professors called "Noodles in Good Company".
There will be Noodles and Company (hence the event name :)), trivia, and plenty of fun. Stop by, and feel free to share the event with others!
