March 20 is the International Day of Happiness! Sometimes we want to send words of encouragement or compliments to the people around us, but we may be a little shy to deliver the message in person. SWE is happy to help send virtual messages to friends, colleagues, and even professors in your life. You can also choose to send the message anonymously. Fill out our collection form at z.umn.edu/swewords by March 4 and we’ll send the message out for you. Here's an example of what your message would look like:

Reposted from SWE Graduate Community:

Join us virtually for an interesting and informative workshop on identifying and challenging microaggressions. This interactive workshop will introduce the concept of microaggressions and examine how they operate to reinforce systemic inequality, power, and privilege while having lasting impacts on individuals. After identifying how microaggressions manifest in everyday situations, participants will put their knowledge into action by strategizing various ways to respond, challenge, or intervene when they witness or experience microaggressions in their own lives. Please register to get zoom details. This event is open to all and is presented by the GradSWE Diversity and Inclusion team and the Social Justice Peer Educators (SJPEs) program, Washington State University.
