I'm a writer, companion and certified end-of-life specialist (CEOLS) based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have been working and volunteering with people at the end of life and their families since 2017, and feel a deep call to this work. For much of my life, death felt like a promised escape. I didn't have the capacity to understand the grief I lived in, but I did see that in ti

mes of death (funerals, national mournings, etc.) everyone seemed to be on my level for once. I found that I felt comfortable walking in these spaces where others were afraid to go, and compelled to hold that space for others as a companion and guide. I created Charon Death Doula to support people on this journey, connect with other souls doing this work, and hopefully make a tiny dent in our culture around death and dying.. I believe that cultivating a relationship to death is essential to live our most full, responsible and joyful lives.
