Compound interest is so powerful. You need to start saving now, and I promise, if you save now for your retirement, you'll live the rest of your life worry free. Stack it, rack it, and tuck it away. An 8% return average per year will set you up for life and make you wealthy.

"I'm living paycheck to paycheck, how am I going to start?"

Start small and make gradual steps up. $50 a month is $25 per paycheck for the average person being paid bi-weekly. You won't miss a small amount like that. You can make increases to this amount as you see fit, but some great things you can do are finding ways to cut expenses, and making increases to your savings when you get raises in income so that you don't ramp up your spending.

If you think you will miss it, you might just be cringing at the lost opportunity cost, which is normal. There are so many ways to automate these savings, that after you set it up, you won't see it disappear and you will adjust to your new savings. It will get easier!

Some options for obtaining an 8% return are; Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, Individual Taxable Investment Accounts, 401K, 403B, SEP IRA, Simple IRA, Real Estate Rental Property... ETC. These are just some of the options that may be available to you to pursue a great return on your money.

We found mold in our apartment today!

We woke up to do laundry and pulled the sheets off of our bed this morning. There's been mold right behind our heads for about the last month we're guessing...

So what do you do if you lease and find mold in your apartment?

•take pictures so you have proof
•call the landlord and report it to them. (Also write up a complaint of the mold and send it in so it's in writing)
•call your town hall and ask for the code enforcement officer
•if the landlord fails to properly get rid of the mold and refuses to do any more about it, move out and stop paying, but document every thing and give them notice of what's happening and why. Cover your butt.
•an air test should be done to verify that mold has been removed. Simple cleaning usually isn't enough to get rid of it.
