We are pleased to congratulate yet another 38 English Access Microscholarship Program participants from Jigjiga, who have successfully completed the 360-hour English Language and Leadership Skills training implemented by Jigjiga University over the past two years. The training encompassed critical thinking and social-emotional skills, and hands-on community service projects. During the closing ceremony, Dr. Gena Rhoades, the Regional English Language Officer for East Africa, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to apply for the upcoming nationwide Access alumni leadership conference and networking event in July. US Embassy Addis Ababa sends a special thanks to Dr. Abdi Ahmed, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Aschalew Legese, Dean of CSSH, for closely supporting the program. We're thrilled to share that our Digital Literacy Training for the 2016 Exit Exam is off to a fantastic start!

Jigjiga University’s Institute of Technology kicked off the training on Monday, May 13, 2016, and already sessions for the College of Education and Behavioral Studies, as well as the College of Social Science and Humanities completed successfully.

Hats off to our dedicated students who actively participated in the sessions, alongside their college deans and department heads and we're grateful for the efficient support provided by the JJU Lab Directorate.

Building on lessons learned from previous training, we've implemented significant enhancements to better align with exam requirements, ensuring our students are well-prepared for success.

A car manufacturing plant called Suweys has been opened in Jijiga city. The factory will be staffed by engineers and the vehicles will be made by students who graduated from Jijiga University The factory, which used to make motorcycles, is now bringing in car parts from abroad, but the rest of the construction is done internally. Abdnur Hussein Takal, the general director of the company, told the university about the new products they have added.
