This past Tuesday, our 10,000 Families Study team celebrated the retirement of one of our Principal Investigators.

Lisa Peterson, PhD, has dedicated her career to understanding how environmental exposures and tobacco-related chemicals contribute to cancer risk, bringing decades of scientific expertise, leadership, and wisdom to the field of public health and cancer research.

Her guidance has been central to the growth and success of the 10,000 Families Study, and we are deeply grateful for everything she has contributed to our team and community. It is truly bittersweet. We will miss her tremendously, but we are also excited for all the new adventures retirement will bring her.

Thank you, Lisa, for your mentorship, kindness, and dedication. πŸ’™

Here are a couple of pictures from the farewell lunch our team shared to celebrate and thank her for an incredible career.
