Principal Investigator, Dr. Michael Esposito, is currently an Assistant Professor of Sociology at the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on understanding the production of racialized disparities in population health. Put differently, his work investigates how broad, racialized social systems — and their constituent institutions — are configured in ways that layer privileges on white populations and hazards on BIPOC populations; his research ultimately seeks to understand how these systematically distributed privileges and penalties arrive on population health.

Principal Investigator, Dr. Jessica Finlay, is currently an Assistant Professor with the Department of Geography at the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Faculty Fellow at the Institute of Behavioral Science with the University of Colorado. Her research combines geography and gerontology to better understand complex relationships between aging people and their environment. It addresses diverse needs and experiences with a strong focus on underrepresented female, low-income, and minority elders. Her work advances geographic scholarship on health-place interconnections, and elucidates the role of socio-physical contexts that shape how we age.
