Eid al-Adha[a] ('Feast of the Sacrifice') is the second of the two main festivals in Islam, alongside Eid al-Fitr. It falls on the 10th of Dhu'l-Hijja, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic calendar.
Celebrations and observances are generally carried forward to the three following days, known as the Tashreeq days.

Today we were so pleased to present to colleagues in the public sector on faith friendliness. We facilitated a wonderful discussion from our team, and look forward to working with leaders across sectors to continue conversations! We’ve been working with community organizations, corporate partners and workplaces of many kinds to facilitate these conversations and happy to do the same with your workplace!

Today in collaboration with community partner we were packing hygeine kits to share with our Cedar Riverside partners who serve our unhoused neighbors. Thankful for service opportunities and faith based volunteers who continue to show up for vulnerable communities in Minnesota. Augsburg University

Today we were so honored to meet Ms. Halima, she graduated from high school this year in her seventies. As she said today, “it’s never too late to pursue your education.” As a Somali American woman, and community leader in Cedar Riverside, she is a shining example of what is possible at any age.
We were at Bryan Coyle as part of the West Bank Restorative Practices Collaborative. We serve as a trainer and evaluation partner with Bryan Coyle Center and . Learn more about the collaborative here and to access services

This year was an extraordinary year for our Interfaith Scholars. They were able to learn so much about other traditions, get into to the Cedar Riverside community and meet faith leaders changing the conditions of youth and people facing so many barriers, they learned about how people experience spirituality as a tool to care for the earth, from policy leaders who had experienced homelessness themselves and then go on to work in that area at the national level, they heard from speakers for whom recovery was a path to self healing, just some of the experiences of this year. They etc passionate about housing and food insecurity and held programming addressing those topics, and we will continue their work in peer mentoring
Our alumni who are still students, a few in the picture led campus wide projects to alleviate the issues faced by housing insecurity, another led dialogues on forgiveness, a few spoke at National, local and regional gatherings on care from their traditions, several were on panels talking about their Augsburg interfaith leadership.
We can’t name all their achievements, but we’re so glad to continue to have such caring Scholars who will go on to to change the world, whether it is starting a project on disability awareness or a non profit addressing the needs of community members experiencing self harm (two post grad projects that began in the course as their final projects) we salute them all and will miss them ! See you at Commencement!

Today our director Prof Syeed shared the stage Mayor Jacob Frey, Lt Governor Peggy Flanagan and others, helping to kick off the Violins of Hope concert series in Minnesota, commemorating violins saved and restored from the Holocaust.
She joined professor Mark Bergman who conducted the concert and spoke on stage with Augsburg Campus Pastor Rev Babette Chatman to offer remarks.
She spoke about the need to address the recent rise in anti-Muslim and Jewish hate across our country and the example of interfaith solidarity in Minnesota.
Thanks to Prof Bergman for the invite !Augsburg University

Congratulations to all the graduating Augsburg University
Interfaith Scholars!
We’re so proud of your academic, community and other achievements.
Many of you have gone on to receive national interfaith fellowships, create your own organizations from final projects in your course, and become incredible bridge builders in your own fields of study and professions.
Thank you for caring about our community, our Minneapolis neighborhood, and communities around the world in your actions of care & compassion.
