I thought this work wasn't enough.
After nearly twenty years of helping people love their homes, I convinced myself it was time to reinvent myself. I enrolled in a master's program studying international business, culinary arts, and French.
Then one ordinary day, more than a year into the program, the truth came rushing out before I could stop it.
"I love helping people love their homes. What am I doing?"
That moment changed everything.
With the guidance of my caring advisor, I redirected my studies. My master's work and thesis became the foundation for my book, Compassionate Decluttering™, and the beginning of the work I do today.
Looking back, I realize that quiet voice had been there all along.
It wasn't asking me to become someone new.
It was asking me to become more fully myself.
Sometimes the bravest thing we do isn't starting over.
It's listening to the truth we've been trying to ignore.
Is there a quiet truth inside you asking for your attention?
