Urgent Fundraising Need: Support Black and Pink Milwaukee member Lisa
Black and Pink Milwaukee is seeking support for beloved community member, Lisa Mitchell. Lisa is a Black trans woman who has experienced housing insecurity for the past 6 years. She has been working through the public housing system for over a year and is on the last step of the process. However, Lisaβs move in date continues to be pushed back by administrative delays, failures, and transphobia for the past 3 months. Lisa has had to shift her funds to maintain her current temporary housing system that she had intended to use for her upcoming security deposit.
Please contribute to Lisaβs security deposit ($637) so Lisa can remain securely housed while she awaits her the final steps in the process to move to be completed. So far $100 has been raised in this effort.

Black & Pink MPLS sends regular, supportive correspondence to LGBTQIA2S+ people and people living with HIV/AIDS in prison. Part of this work requires that we use black and white cards with white envelopes because some prisons have banned colorful envelopes, cards, and ink (ex. Federal prisons, Pennsylvania). Many are now even photocopying ALL cards in black and white so that the prisoner receives only the photocopy, not the original.
Because of these restrictions, we are hoping to amass some inspiring art that we can print and send to folks on the inside instead of greeting cards. This will minimize the amount of mail rejected by prisons. Interested in providing something that B&P MPLS can use again and again to brighten a q***r or trans prisoner's day? Consider the following:
π¨ Image is strongly encouraged to adhere to a theme that can be used year after year
π¨ Image must be legible when printed on 4x5.5 inch paper
π¨ Image must be a black & white line drawing (think a kid's coloring book page!)
π¨ Submission may be any file size but minimum 400 dpi is helpful
Propose or submit designs here: bit.ly/BPMPLSArt
Deadline: April 1st, 2022
