Below you will find the summer reading list for the upcoming school year. These selections have been carefully chosen to encourage academic growth, cultivate a love of literature, and strengthen students’ understanding of the beauty of God’s world.

Upon returning in the fall, assignments will be completed over these required readings. It is crucial that students complete all required summer reading prior to the first day of school in order for them to be successful in their English classes. Students are welcome to utilize audiobooks when completing their required reading.

Parents play an important role in fostering a love of reading, and we thank you for partnering with us and your child’s education.

🎓⚔️ Senior Spotlight: Noah Leavelle ⚔️🎓

Today we proudly celebrate CCS senior Noah Leavelle, this year’s Valedictorian! Noah has made an incredible impact on our Warrior family through both his academic excellence and the joy he brings to those around him each day.

Throughout his time at CCS, Noah has participated in football and many theater productions, where his talent and dedication continually stood out. This year, Noah served as the lead in the varsity One Act Play competition and earned outstanding recognition for his performances, taking home 1st All Star Cast at district and 2nd All Star Cast at state.

Beyond his accomplishments, Noah has been a constant source of joy to everyone around him. His humor, authenticity, and confidence in being unapologetically himself have made him someone people naturally gravitate toward. Noah’s presence has brought laughter, encouragement, and unforgettable memories to the CCS community.

After graduation, Noah plans to attend Texas Tech University to study visual communication, video production, and animation. With his creativity, talent, and unique perspective, we know he has an incredibly bright future ahead.

Noah, we are so proud of all you have accomplished and grateful for the light you have brought to CCS. Congratulations on this amazing achievement, and thank you for showing us what it means to lead with excellence while staying true to yourself. Once a Warrior, always a Warrior! ❤️

🎓⚔️ Senior Spotlight: Muyoung Jang ⚔️🎓

Today we proudly recognize CCS senior Muyoung Jang, who joined us through our foreign exchange program all the way from Korea. During his time at CCS, Muyoung has shown remarkable bravery, perseverance, and a willingness to step into a new environment and grow in every way possible.

Muyoung has not only learned so much during his time here, but has also taught our school community powerful lessons about kindness, hard work, and the importance of chasing your goals with everything you have—no matter how challenging the journey may be. He has a gentle spirit, the sweetest smile, and a truly kind heart that has impacted everyone around him.

In his time at CCS, Muyoung has been involved in many theater productions, serving as a spotlight operator and working diligently behind the scenes. His talent and dedication were recognized when he earned Best Technician at this year’s TCAF One Act Play District competition, and he also earned a place on the Tech All Star Team at the state competition.

While he will be greatly missed, we are incredibly proud of all he has accomplished and the courage he has shown stepping into a new culture and community. We will be cheering him on as he returns home and continues pursuing admission to one of the Japanese universities he has been working toward.

Muyoung, thank you for sharing your light with CCS. We wish you the very best as you continue your journey—may you find success, growth, and a life well lived ahead. Once a Warrior, always a Warrior! ❤️

🎓⚔️ Senior Spotlight: Kasen Wheaton ⚔️🎓

Today we proudly recognize CCS senior Kasen Wheaton! Over the years, Kasen has faithfully served and represented our Warrior family through a variety of activities and leadership roles across campus.

Kasen has been involved in theater for several years, contributing both on stage as an actor and behind the scenes as part of the tech crew. He also played football for several years, showing dedication, teamwork, and perseverance both on and off the field. This year, Kasen stepped into the role of track team manager, supporting and encouraging athletes throughout the season, while also contributing his creativity and hard work as part of the yearbook staff for multiple years.

Kasen’s willingness to serve wherever needed and his steady presence have made a lasting impact on the CCS community. Whether under the stadium lights, backstage at productions, or helping preserve memories through yearbook, he has always been an important part of our Warrior family.

After graduation, Kasen plans to join UA Local 146 to pursue a career in welding, pipefitting, plumbing, and HVAC. We are excited to see all he accomplishes as he steps into this next chapter.

Kasen, thank you for your dedication, hard work, and servant heart throughout your time at CCS. We are proud of you and can’t wait to see what your future holds. Once a Warrior, always a Warrior! ❤️

🎓⚔️ Senior Spotlight: Faith Hughes ⚔️🎓

Today we are excited to celebrate CCS senior Faith Hughes! Throughout her time at CCS, Faith has been involved in so many areas of school life, using her talents, creativity, and leadership to make a lasting impact on our Warrior family.

Faith has been a dedicated member of cheer, serving as captain this year, and has also shined brightly in theater, earning several medals throughout her high school career — including this year’s prestigious 1st All Star Cast honors at both district and state competitions. In addition, she has shared her gifts through choir and our annual fine arts competition, where she showcased her incredible artistic abilities through art pieces, monologues, and performances.

Faith’s creativity and artistic spirit are evident in everything she does. Whether on stage, on the sidelines, or through her artwork, she brings passion, heart, and excellence to every opportunity.

After graduation, Faith plans to pursue a degree in pediatric nursing at Weatherford College, where we know she will continue to care for and inspire others with the same compassion and dedication she has shown at CCS.

Today we proudly honor CCS senior Adrian Hernandez! During his time at CCS, Adrian has been a dedicated Warrior on and off the field, competing in football, basketball, and baseball. His hard work, determination, and team spirit have left a lasting impact on our school family.

Adrian’s contagious joy lights up every room he walks into. Whether he’s bringing a good laugh to those around him or encouraging others with kindness and positivity, he has a special way of making people feel seen and supported. Most importantly, his love for the Lord and the Word of God shines through him each and every day.
