AcuTalks

Acupuncture graduates speak about acupuncture

Today I Graduate.

If there was one Graduation Gift I could ask from you, it would be to Watch this video and SHARE it with others. Tag an Acupuncturist, share it with someone that gets Acupuncture. Help raise awareness about our story and what we provide.

Today marks a pivotal moment for my classmates and I to receive our Master of Science Degree and become Acupuncturists.

But while Acupuncture is becoming popular in mainstream medicine, we can still do more to educate and clear up common misunderstandings surrounding it.

Acupuncture Medicine can address a wide variety of health issues such as allergies, eczema, depression and musculoskeletal disorders. It can be instrumental in combating large issues such as the opioid epidemic, chronic pain (which is costing the U.S. over $700 Billion annually), and even infertility.

This profession is having a profound impact on modern medicine. It has already supported countless individuals and communities worldwide for healthcare.

But more outreach is needed to raise awareness and connect practitioners with those who are in need of it.

We're here to empower patients, provide quality healthcare in a cost effective manner, as well as provide preventative healthcare.

So, in the spirit of Graduation and our next adventure, SHARE this video if you Love Acupuncture and this message resonates with you :)

About NYCTCM

New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches acupuncture and herbal medicine much as they are taught in China, while helping students relate this approach to the contemporary Western healthcare system.

The fully-accredited three year Masters Program in Acupuncture and four year Masters Program in Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupuncture plus Chinese herbology) prepare students for licensure and professional practice within New York and throughout the U.S.

General information

New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was started in 1996 by Dr. Chi Chow. Dr. Chow felt that the New York City area had need for a school which taught Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) much as it is taught in China, and which at the same time could help students relate this approach to the contemporary Western healthcare system. Her vision included small classes, master-apprentice type teaching relationships in clinic, and the ability to accommodate students’ schedules by offering classes mostly on weekends. From its first trimester in Spring of 1996, NYCTCM has embodied this approach. New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches acupuncture and herbal medicine much as they are taught in China, while helping students relate this approach to the contemporary Western healthcare system. The excellent faculty, many of whom were trained in China and have extensive teaching and clinical experience in both China and the U.S., carefully transmits this ancient knowledge to the students who will make up the next generation of master practitioners. NYCTCM offers a weekend curriculum that accommodates students with full-time working schedules and a friendly family-style atmosphere that encourages stress-free learning. The main campus, located in Mineola, Long Island, houses three floors of classrooms, clinic, a study room and the Chi Chow Library, and is easily accessible by LIRR, bus and auto. NYCTCM accepts new and transfer students at the beginning of each trimester, in September, January and May.
