Emmylou also received an A.A. in Classical Guitar Performance from Tyler Junior College before earning her B.A. in English Literature from the University of Texas at Tyler. sic lessons for over 10 years and has also taught general music classes at a small Christian school (Pre-K through 8th grade). Rafael took courses in the art of pedagogy at Berklee and since graduating has addressed this Berklee class on several occasions via the internet. As working musicians, Rafael & Emmylou emphasize mastery of the skills you need to play with other musicians and to perform in front of an audience. The Espinozas are multi-instrumentalists and specialize in accompanying every student in lessons and in recitals. Lessons are tailored to students age and ability. There is something for everyone! Young children will enjoy the newly implemented incentives program which rewards progress and encourages practice. The Espinozas strive to provide their middle school to high school age students with many opportunities to perform in a group setting and in front of an audience; for example, several of our middle school & high school age students had the opportunity to perform at The Kacey Musgraves Hometown Hang. Adult students can work on their skills and add to their repertoire in a supportive environment. Lessons are scheduled by appointment. Rafael asked me to hop on and post a video in honor of the late great Dolly Parton. There are so many amazing songs that Dolly sang and wrote but this one is my favorite.

I have some new time to teach when the Professor is at TJC. If you would like to work on guitar, mandolin, bass, BEGINNER fiddle, or singing country and bluegrass music, keep ol' Emmylou in mind, Mineola.
