Understanding the Purpose, Expectations & Policies

We had a great BRAG trip traveling through Southeast Nebraska with our Kearney/Franklin County BRAG and our Adams/Webster BRAG groups. Day one consisted of Reinke Irrigation in Deshler, Pinecrest Tree Farm in Blue Springs, Den’s Country Meats in Table Rock, Lewis and Clark Visitor’s Center on the Missouri River, and Lied Lodge in Nebraska City. Day two was Arbor Day Lodge, Kimmel Orchard, a trip to Daryl Obermeyer’s farm where we learned about conservation techniques on his Nemaha County farm, Brownville and the Otoe County Fair in Syracuse. It was a great experience with some great young people!!

We finished the Fairs this weekend with the Kearney/Franklin County 4-H Horse Show and it did not disappoint. Our 4-H’ers had an outstanding day despite the heat. Everyone did such a great job!
Thanks to all of our club leaders, parents and amazing volunteers for all you have done this past year for our Horse 4-H’ers!!

What an amazing Fair!! We are so thankful for each and everyone of our 4-H’ers, their families, our 4-H Council Members, Fair Board Members and volunteers for coming together as one to support something bigger than ourselves!

The amazing things that can happen when we see the value in working together!! You are all truly amazing! Thank you to our supporters, our sponsors and our buyers and all of our community members in Kearney County!

Join us Sunday, July 19 at 8:30 AM in the Livestock Arena as contestants evaluate livestock classes, rank animals, and give reasons for their decisions—just like the professionals!

This event highlights critical thinking, confidence, and livestock knowledge while showcasing the hard work and dedication of our youth.

Whether you’re a livestock enthusiast or just curious to see what livestock judging is all about, this is a fun and educational event for the whole family!
