Today, our squad competed in the OSSAA Game Day regional competition. I am so incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication, and commitment!! I thought they had an exceptional performance today with only a couple of minor bloops. Unfortunately, we did not advance to the state competition, but we had a blast and had, in my opinion, one of our best performances to date!
So many celebrations!!
First……these 10 girls have showed up, worked hard, struggled, overcame, succeeded, and pushed themselves to be great. We had many obstacles the past couple of months, but they held their head high, met every challenge head on, and pushed forward! That is worth more than any win!! They’re so cool!!
Second - our two freshmen who hopped right in to fill a couple of spots. They came in and picked up the choreography without a blink - and man did they SHOW UP today!!!! Also sweet Taitlyn hopped in and has added skills beyond belief!! You cannot even tell that she has not been a cheerleader all of her life! Her performance skills have elevated our entire team!! 
Third - TAYLOR!!! Not many football stars are also stars on a cheer mat, but our Taylor is!!!! I cannot sing his praises enough for stepping out of his comfort zone and CRUSHING IT!!! That one-man stunt is next level!!
Fourth - our Ava!!! She wasn’t able to be on the mat, but she showed up to practices and was right beside us all day today, encouraging, lifting spirits, and supporting. I know it was so difficult for her to be watching from the sidelines, but  I know all of these kids were so grateful to have her there today cheering them on!!
Fifth - I am beyond proud and have the deepest gratitude to our 5 flag participants for stepping in and adding needed depth to the performance! They brought depth not only to our performance, but they brought a light and fun spirit to the group! SO many laughs with those silly kiddos! In this, we were lucky to get another football star, Cayson, on a flag, and he also crushed it! I can’t close this one out without mentioning Paisley, who picked up the flag for the first time on Monday.  looking at her performance today, nobody would ever know that she had only had about four total hours of rehearsal time. Fantastic!! Top-notch flags for sure!!!
Sixth - my sweet kiddos - Josie and Cale!!!! Josie brought her expertise into the gym and just made the girls better. She has an eye that I will never have, and she helped tremendously with her extensive cheer experience. She was excited to help and jumped in with both feet spending her Saturday mornings and two evenings a week with us. She and Cale spent hours with us, and we loved every minute!! Cale claims the flags’ successes were his doing!!

*Thank you to all the parents for bringing your kids to the gym at random hours. Thank you also for your endless support and patience with all of us for this competition. You guys are the real deal!!

*Chickasha Cheer for graciously letting us practice in their gym so we could be on full mats!
*Leslie for alternate transportation!
*Regan Baade for graciously answering the 7000 questions I have had so far this season, with about 6997 of them being this past week! 
*Mr. Shirley for showing up to watch his students perform today!!
*Mr. Sims - who was out of state, but checked in several times on the girls today and wished them well!
*Coach Wardlaw for being flexible with his two football players’ time so they could join us for practices and for competition today! I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, we have the best head football Coach/AD, who is always supportive of his players and all our Minco athletes!!
*The Minco community for showing up to our showcase earlier this week and supporting these cheerleaders!

We are not done! We are so excited to cheer on our Bulldog football team as we head into playoffs this week! GO DAWGS!!!!!! 🐾 💙🤍 🐾t
