As Classified Staff Appreciation Week comes to a close, we want to take a moment to say thank you to the incredible people who help make our school run every single day.

As you have read this week, our classified staff are often the first to greet students in the morning and the last to leave at night. They keep our school clean, organized, welcoming, and running smoothly. They help students learn, care for them when they’re sick, prepare their meals, check out their books, support them in classrooms, and offer smiles, encouragement, and kindness all along the way.

This week we’ve loved sharing a glimpse of the amazing people behind these roles. Their impact is felt every day in a thousand quiet ways. Our students, staff, and families are so fortunate to have such dedicated, hardworking, and caring people supporting our kids and school community.

To all of our classified staff: thank you for everything you do for our students and for Todos Unidos. We appreciate you more than words can say!

Al finalizar la Semana de Reconocimiento al Personal Clasificado, queremos agradecer a las increíbles personas que hacen que nuestra escuela funcione a diario.

Como han leído esta semana, nuestro personal clasificado suele ser el primero en recibir a los estudiantes por la mañana y el último en irse por la noche. Mantienen nuestra escuela limpia, organizada, acogedora y funcionando a la perfección. Ayudan a los estudiantes a aprender, los cuidan cuando están enfermos, preparan sus comidas, les prestan libros, los apoyan en las aulas y les ofrecen sonrisas, ánimo y amabilidad en todo momento.

Esta semana nos ha encantado compartir más de las increíbles personas que están detrás de estos roles; su impacto se siente cada día de mil maneras silenciosas. Nuestros estudiantes, personal y familias son muy afortunados de contar con personas tan dedicadas, trabajadoras y cariñosas que apoyan a nuestros niños y a la comunidad escolar.

A todo nuestro personal clasificado: gracias por todo lo que hacen por nuestros estudiantes y por Todos Unidos. ¡Los apreciamos más de lo que las palabras pueden expresar!

With a warm smile and a patient heart, Erika Garcia-Ramirez has spent the past three years building meaningful connections as an Instructional Assistant at our school. She truly loves forming relationships with students and finding ways to connect with each child individually. Whether she’s offering encouragement, helping with classwork, or checking in during “rest and return”, which is her favorite part of the day, Erika is intentional about making students feel seen and supported. She especially appreciates when students greet her back in the hallway, knowing those small moments help create the welcoming, respectful community she values so much.

Erika loves that Todos Unidos is a bilingual school and takes pride in being part of a community where multiple languages and cultures are celebrated. If she could have any superpower, it would be the ability to speak every language so she could communicate and connect with even more people. She’s learned that kids can be incredibly funny and creative, and she encourages them to keep up the good work and continue being their best selves.

At home, Erika jokes that she’s the only girl in a very busy house — with sons, her husband, and even her dog! When she’s not at school, you’ll likely find her cheering from the sidelines at one of her boys’ sporting events or cooking something delicious, like her favorite dish, mole. She hopes students always remember her smile, and we are so grateful for the friendly, steady presence she brings to our school each day.

Con una sonrisa cálida y un corazón paciente, Erika García-Ramírez ha dedicado los últimos tres años a construir vínculos significativos como Asistente de Instrucción en nuestra escuela. Le encanta forjar relaciones con los estudiantes y encontrar maneras de conectar con cada uno individualmente. Ya sea animando, ayudando con las tareas o atendiendo durante la hora de "descanso y regreso", que es su momento favorito del día, Erika se esfuerza por hacer que los estudiantes se sientan apreciados y apoyados. Aprecia especialmente cuando los estudiantes la saludan al regresar al pasillo, sabiendo que esos pequeños momentos ayudan a crear la comunidad acogedora y respetuosa que tanto valora.

A Erika le encanta que Todos Unidos sea una escuela bilingüe y se enorgullece de formar parte de una comunidad donde se celebran múltiples idiomas y culturas. Si pudiera tener un superpoder, sería la capacidad de hablar todos los idiomas para poder comunicarse y conectar con aún más personas. Ha aprendido que los niños pueden ser increíblemente divertidos y creativos, y los anima a seguir esforzándose y a seguir siendo su mejor versión.

En casa, Erika bromea diciendo que es la única niña en una casa muy ajetreada: ¡con sus hijos, su esposo y su perro! Cuando no está en la escuela, es probable que la encuentres animando en los eventos deportivos de sus hijos o cocinando algo delicioso, como su plato favorito, el mole. Espera que los estudiantes siempre recuerden su sonrisa, y estamos muy agradecidos por la presencia amable y constante que trae a nuestra escuela cada día.

For 19 years, Salvador Gonzalez has worked quietly and faithfully behind the scenes to keep our school clean, safe, and welcoming for every student who walks through the doors. As our janitor, he takes great pride in his work, making sure classrooms, hallways, and shared spaces are ready for learning each day. The care he puts into our building does not go unnoticed — it’s because of his dedication that our school feels so bright and well cared for.

Salvador loves seeing students playing and enjoying their time at school, especially on Fridays, and he treasures being part of a bilingual community that celebrates songs like “Qué bonito ser bilingüe.” He wants students to know he is kind and funny, and he hopes they remember the times he helped them — maybe even when he shared a piece of candy. He encourages students to keep studying and, most importantly, to be good people. After nearly two decades of hard work and heart, we are deeply grateful for the pride and commitment Salvador brings to making our school such a clean and wonderful place to be.

Durante 19 años, Salvador González ha trabajado discreta y fielmente entre bastidores para mantener nuestra escuela limpia, segura y acogedora para cada estudiante que entra por sus puertas. Como nuestro conserje, se enorgullece de su trabajo, asegurándose de que las aulas, los pasillos y los espacios compartidos estén listos para el aprendizaje cada día. El cuidado que pone en nuestro edificio no pasa desapercibido; es gracias a su dedicación que nuestra escuela se siente tan luminosa y bien cuidada.

A Salvador le encanta ver a los estudiantes jugar y disfrutar de su tiempo en la escuela, especialmente los viernes, y valora ser parte de una comunidad bilingüe que celebra canciones como "Qué bonito ser bilingüe". Quiere que los estudiantes sepan que es amable y divertido, y espera que recuerden las veces que los ayudó, tal vez incluso cuando compartió un dulce. Anima a los estudiantes a seguir estudiando y, lo más importante, a ser buenas personas. Después de casi dos décadas de arduo trabajo y dedicación, estamos profundamente agradecidos por el orgullo y el compromiso que Salvador pone para hacer de nuestra escuela un lugar tan limpio y maravilloso.

Every day, Jazmine Lopez shows up with a smile and as a steady presence ready to support each student she works with. For the past 10 years as a SPED Instructional Assistant, she has helped students grow in confidence and achieve their goals, always keeping a positive outlook and looking for the bright side. She understands that everyone learns differently, and she’s willing to try new approaches to make sure each child feels successful.

Jazmine loves reading groups and dismissal — special moments in the day when she can connect with students and hear about what’s happening in their world. She wants every child to know she is always willing to help and hopes they remember her as someone who was kind and truly happy to see them. She values the strong sense of community at Todos Unidos and reminds students to enjoy being kids and not rush to grow up. If she could have any superpower, it would be unlimited time (and a few duplicates of herself!) so she could give even more care and attention to every student who needs it.

Cada día, Jazmine López se presenta con una sonrisa y una presencia constante, lista para apoyar a cada estudiante. Durante los últimos 10 años como Asistente de Instrucción de Educación Especial, ha ayudado a los estudiantes a crecer en confianza y alcanzar sus metas, manteniendo siempre una actitud positiva y buscando el lado positivo. Entiende que cada persona aprende de manera diferente y está dispuesta a probar nuevos enfoques para asegurarse de que cada niño se sienta exitoso.

A Jazmine le encantan los grupos de lectura y la salida de la escuela: momentos especiales del día en los que puede conectar con los estudiantes y enterarse de lo que sucede en su mundo. Quiere que todos los niños sepan que siempre está dispuesta a ayudar y espera que la recuerden como alguien amable y verdaderamente feliz de verlos. Valora el fuerte sentido de comunidad en Todos Unidos y les recuerda a los estudiantes que disfruten de ser niños y no se apresuren a crecer. Si pudiera tener un superpoder, sería tener tiempo ilimitado (¡y varias copias de sí misma!) para poder brindar aún más cuidado y atención a cada estudiante que lo necesite.

If you’ve picked up a tray in the cafeteria this year, you’ve probably been greeted by Erin Plummer’s smile. In her first year as part of our nutrition team, Erin has quickly become a bright spot in the middle of every school day. She keeps lunch moving (super speed would definitely help!) and brings a sense of humor to the serving line — because she wants students to know she’s just as funny as she is hardworking.

A math fan with a love for pizza and gardening outside of school, Erin appreciates it most when students simply say “thank you.” Those small moments of gratitude make a big difference. We’re so grateful for the energy and positivity she brings to our cafeteria and to our Todos Unidos community each day.

Si este año has recogido una bandeja en la cafetería, probablemente te haya recibido la sonrisa de Erin Plummer. En su primer año como parte de nuestro equipo de nutrición, Erin se ha convertido rápidamente en un punto brillante en medio de cada día escolar. Mantiene el almuerzo en movimiento (¡la súper velocidad sin duda ayuda!) y aporta sentido del humor a la línea de servicio, porque quiere que los estudiantes sepan qué es tan chistosa como trabajadora.

Apasionada por las matemáticas y con una pasión por la pizza y la jardinería fuera de la escuela, Erin aprecia mucho cuando los estudiantes simplemente dicen "gracias". Esos pequeños momentos de gratitud marcan una gran diferencia. Estamos muy agradecidos por la energía y la positividad que aporta a nuestra cafetería y a nuestra comunidad de Todos Unidos cada día.
