For over 25 years, Sylvan Learning of Milwaukie has contributed to the educational success stories of countless students in our community. However, as of the end of today, we are heartbroken to report that we will no longer be available for such services. We are closing our doors permanently.
We have been struggling for the past few months and it all came to a culmination in November when our center was burglarized and we lost all of our iPads and Laptops. Unfortunately, that was the proverbial straw that pushed our franchisee to make this heavy decision.
For those of you closest to our community, thank you for the outreach of support. Our Center Director, Director of Education, and our Teachers have worked hard over the years to help your/our students gain the confidence, the academic skills, and the love of learning to be successful in school and hopefully in life. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
Should you be looking for academic assistance, there are plenty of great tutoring organizations around. Simply reach out to your local tutoring center and get going on the help your student needs. The longer you wait, the worse it'll get; so don't delay!
One final thought: education is important to the human condition. Learning new ideas, discovering old ones, and creating new ways to improve our lives has always been vital to growth. We hope that all of you take the opportunities that are presented in front of you, help the people around you, and be good to one another. Good luck out there. Thank you for everything!
