Today we honor civil rights activist, Martin Luther King Jr. MLK Day is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of January. It is recognized as a national day of service.
We celebrate the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr. King sought equality and human rights for African Americans, the economically disadvantaged, and all victims of injustice through peaceful protest.

November is Native American Heritage Month.
This month is a time to celebrate culture, tradition, history, and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. It also give us the opportunity to bring to light the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to overcome these challenges.
