Hey Everyone!! SENIOR HIGHLIGHT!!🤩‼️🦉

This is Ashanti Pettis, a graduate from Golda Meir's Class of 2020. She is known as a true owl and pioneer. She is graduating with 20 college credits and has maintained a 3.5 and above all four years of high school. She is a senior that has it going on! She is getting ready to take her CBRF classes with hopes of one day becoming a Labor & Delivery Nurse. She was active in her school community by participating in the Black Student Union, Spirit Squad, and Pink Squad (a Breast Cancer Organization). One quote that Ashanti wanted everyone to know was “This chapter is finally coming to an end, but my story has just begun.” Ashanti has come a long way during her 12 years of school and we want to let her know that she has the support from her classmates, her family, and Golda Meir's Administration/ Staff/ Faculty! ✨💫

Also, Ashanti Pettis will be attending Tennessee State University in Fall 2020!!!

We want her to remember a quote that she can use in her everyday life: “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” – Thomas A. Edison

This year has been dramatically different for the Class of 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣0️⃣. For a long time, we knew that the C/o 2020 was a non-traditional class; they're unique. They're unique in so many ways. They are truly future leaders, millionaires, doctors, CEOs, RNs, and the list continues!!🎓

To give a little insight on this year's graduating class, we congratulate the Valedictorian, Elijah Prather (on the left) and Salutatorian, Mordechai Tinney (on the right). Elijah will be a Badger attending UW-Madison in the Fall. Elijah was known for his hardwork, dedication, and willingness to put in the effort. Mordechai will be attending Macalester College of Fall 2020 in Minnesota. This year, he had the honor of being the President of the Student Council and hosted Golda Meir's FIRST Voter Registration Drive!! 🗣On behalf of the Golda Meir faculty, you will be missed and Good Luck on your future endeavors. 💡Just keep in mind, you will face challenges and setbacks, but NEVER let that stop you from reaching your dreams. YOU CAN DO IT‼️🦉✨

ATTENTION💡***************

Dear MPS Families,

Today, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers announced the closure of all Wisconsin schools in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic situation. Milwaukee Public Schools will close beginning Monday, March 16 through Monday, April 13.

I recognize the impact this closure will have on our school community, and know it may burden some of our students, families, and staff who rely on our schools.

Please direct any questions to MPS Central Office at (414)475-8393.

*Also, students should be enrolled in their google classrooms. This way they can keep up to date with their classwork and assignments.*

We Hope Everyone Stays Safe Out There‼️ That's the Golda Way‼️🦉
