Milwaukee Area Home Learners - MAHL MAHL is a community of homeschooling families who gather for friendship, activities, and support. Welcome! We look forward to meeting you and your family!

Take your child to see the symphony, enroll in a lab class at Discovery World, or explore Milwaukee architecture through photography. Whether it’s organizing a tour or participating in an art project, your ideas and enthusiasm are welcome. Membership:

Membership allows access to our secure website and all MAHL events and information. Membership is open to homeschooling families with at least one child registered on DPI form 1206, or a qualified kindergarten student. Dues are $15/year or $8/6 months, renewable in October.

In Chemistry for Teens this week, we wrapped up our study of SCOBYs and went on to examine a variety of kitchen chemistry concepts! We separated colors in Skittles candies using thin layer chromatography, denatured casein in milk, emulsified eggs and oil, and explored several decomposition, single replacement, and acid-base reactions. We’re getting better at balancing chemical equations, and it’s only week 3!
