Are students learning what employers actually need?
This question sits at the heart of our issue of QEDNews, and it’s one we must keep asking.
Education is evolving. Industry is evolving.
Our alignment must evolve with it.
As the ASQ Education Division, our mission is clear: mind the gap and actively bridge it.
We invite educators, leaders, and quality professionals to join us in strengthening the connection between classroom learning and workforce readiness.
Every insight, every contribution, every improvement effort brings us one step closer to preparing graduates who are truly industry-ready.
Be part of the movement.

The ideal moment for educators and academic leaders to pause and reflect on where the system struggled the most. Look for processes that repeatedly slowed progress, such as assessment workflows, student feedback cycles, course scheduling, curriculum mapping updates, or interdepartmental communication.
These “friction points” typically hide opportunities for major improvement. By mapping them, analyzing their root causes, and simplifying the steps, you reduce rework for faculty, improve turnaround times for students, and strengthen overall academic quality.
When educators focus on streamlining even one or two such processes, the ripple effect is immediate:
✓ clearer expectations
✓ higher student satisfaction
✓ reduced faculty burnout
✓ more time for innovation and teaching
✓ better alignment with accreditation and quality standards
Start the year by tightening your foundation, so 2026 begins with smoother systems, stronger engagement, and fewer surprises.

💭 Success doesn’t come occasionally, it comes from consistency.
In education, excellence isn’t built in moments of inspiration; it’s built in the quiet rhythm of continuous improvement, in classrooms, leadership, and systems.
Every process we refine, every reflection we make, every learner we empower adds up to lasting quality.
At the ASQ Education Division, we believe that quality in education is consistency in action, the daily commitment to do better, teach better, and lead better.

🔆Meet Azizeh Elias Constantinescu, our 2025 Immediate Past Chair, whose journey through the ASQ Education Division is a true reflection of dedication, leadership, and growth. 💪
🎓Azizeh joined ASQ in 2005 as a graduate student and began actively contributing to the Education Division in 2018 through journal articles, geographic chapter presentations, webinars, and WCQI presentations.
Her consistent involvement led her from Membership Chair (2021–2022) to Chair-Elect (2023), Chair (2024), and now Immediate Past Chair in 2025. Under her leadership, the Division proudly achieved Silver status, a milestone that stands as a testament to her vision and collaborative spirit.🥈👌
💡 Her Passion
Azizeh champions lean leadership, where people grow as systems improve. With 28 years in industry, she’s refined the art of translating lean science into real-world results across operations and service sectors. Her philosophy is simple yet powerful: Quality begins with education, and progress is driven by self-awareness, learning, and excellence. She’s authored three books and teaches a Udemy course on process design, all dedicated to sparking continuous dialogue on how quality can elevate organizations and the world around us. 📚
Her advice to member leaders?
"Get involved. Find ways to contribute positively to the technical trade and to the organization, everything good flows from there." 😊❤️
Fun Fact:
Azizeh is a life-long learner. She holds a Bachelor degree in Chemistry, a Master degree in Quality and Manufacturing Management, and Master of Theology degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling. Currently, she is picking up swimming and studying ancient Greek! She thrives on connecting with others and making a positive difference in every community she’s part of. 🤝
