- acquire foundational knowledge of Latinx

, Latin American, and Caribbean history and cultures;
- develop analytical and critical thinking skills;
- learn the comparative approach to studies of cultures; and
- gain insight into Latinx, Latin American, and Caribbean cultures from a variety of perspectives. The LACUSL major serves both students interested in developing a deeper understanding of diverse Latin American heritages and students who will serve the expanding Latinx population here in the U.S. and abroad.
