Happy hump day everyone!
As in past years, our WLC iGEM team is hosting a week long Bioengineering summer camp for high school students designed to expose students to the underlying science of biology and bioengineering and to teach students the basic techniques used in research labs on a daily basis.
Our camp is structured so that no matter what level of exposure a student has previously had to biology or bioengineering, they will be engaged and intellectually stimulated by experienced professors and researchers.
If you or someone you know is a student with a passion to learn and explore fascinating topics, this is an amazing opportunity to get a head start experiencing scientific research first hand, and if you register between now and July 4th you will receive a $50 camp discount!
For more information, see the following links or feel free to contact our team page with any inquiries.

Happy Monday everyone!
The WLC-iGEM Team is once again hosting our week long bioengineering Summer Camp from July 23rd- July 27th!
Over the course of the week long camp, students will be introduced to the basics of genetic engineering, biotechnology, and how modern biological research is performed.
This is a great opportunity for high school students interested in the sciences to gain hands on experience performing lab techniques they will likely use for the rest of their lives!
If you have questions or are interested in registering for this great opportunity, see the attached registration and informational pages!
We look forward to seeing you in July!

Happy Sunday evening everyone!
As our team has been preparing for the International Convention in Boston, we've been attempting to collect more information about water quality, and water testing, from various communities and groups of people.
If you have a spare minute, we'd greatly appreciate it if you would take our quick survey regarding water quality in your community by following this link! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1dOEMJO0prxOOO5a0fE1St4azArZCyhQ9jiuo8-ZT1YY/edit?usp=drive_web

Good afternoon everyone!
The WLC iGEM team is gearing up for the International Convention in Boston, and we would love your input and participation in some of our upcoming events!
Tomorrow, Thursday October 12th, we will be hosting a town-hall style event at the Wauwatosa Public Library in Wauwatosa Wisconsin from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
We are hosting this event in an effort to open up a conversation between community members and scientists in an attempt to reduce the stigma that often surrounds both scientific research and biotechnology.
Throughout the night we will be discussing some of the basics of genetic engineering along with common ethical concerns, before opening up discussion of concerns or questions community members may have regarding genetically modified organisms.
Refreshments will be served, and we hope to see you there!

Good afternoon!
The WLC iGEM Team is happy to announce the 2017 Synthetic Biology Summer camp to be held this July 24th-28th!
Over the course of this week long camp, students will be exposed to college level lectures and labs that teach students the concepts and lab protocols they will need to know for college courses in the biological sciences and for future work in scientific research.
If you have a high school student, or students, interested in the biological or medical sciences, this camp is an amazing opportunity they won't want to miss.
