Riley, a biomedical sciences major, says:
“I have relied on the First Gen Student Organization at Alverno College to help guide me through the challenges of being a first-generation college student. The individuals I’ve met through this group have provided invaluable support, not only in navigating academic life, but also by offering financial assistance for books, which has eased some of the financial burdens of college.
Receiving a scholarship to Alverno significantly reduces my financial stress, allowing me to focus more on my studies rather than worrying about how to afford school. With less pressure to work extra hours, I have more time to dedicate to my academic success, ensuring I can fully prepare for my future career.”
