Happy Mother’s Day! 💐

Today we celebrate the strength, resilience, and dedication of mothers who live out Jesuit values each day—balancing family, work, and personal growth with purpose and grace.

Remi Fagbohun embodies this spirit. A wife, mother, big sister, entrepreneur, and stylist, she made the courageous decision to return to school and earn her degree from Fordham University.

Last month, we were proud to recognize her commitment to scholarship and leadership with induction into the Alpha Sigma Nu family. Pictured alongside Fordham’s Chapter Advisor, Vanessa Rotondo, Remi's achievement is a powerful reminder that lifelong learning and AΣN leadership has no timeline.

“For a mother, having your son see you as something new is a beautiful feeling. In these final few weeks, he has seen me as mom the scholar... To every mother who put herself last for years and is wondering if it is too late to put herself first, it is not. The only timeline that matters is the one you are committed to.”
— Remi Fagbohun

To all of our AΣN moms: your leadership, perseverance, and love inspire us every day. Keep rising, keep learning, and keep leading.

Chapter Check In With Loyola University of Chicago!

Last week, Loyola University Chicago hosted an Alpha Sigma Nu information and networking gathering.

The event brought together alumni and current students, highlighting one of Alpha Sigma Nu’s greatest strengths: its ability to foster meaningful, lifelong connections that bridge generations and support members at every stage of life.

Alumni guests from AΣN Loyola Chicago's Alumni Club shared their insights on AΣN's impact on their post-grad journey and beyond:

- Bianca Viver Ugarte, M.S. (AΣN ’23, Loyola Chicago) – Connected with students on the value of the AΣN network and engagement with the Chicago Alumni Club and YAAC

- Dr. Cathy Buescher, Ph.D. (Doctorate from Loyola Chicago & AΣN ’92, Creighton) – Shared inspiring alumni perspective on Jesuit education and lifelong AΣN connections through her work with Jesuit Volunteer Corps and the Ignatian Volunteer Corps.

A member of Loyola's Jesuit Community, Rev. Noah Banasiewicz, S.J., offered thoughtful reflections on the values that shape our AΣN community.

Thank you to Trevor Rowe, Chapter President (AΣN ’24, Loyola Chicago), and Mia Grace Conti Mica, Communications & Outreach Officer (AΣN ’24, Loyola Chicago), for all of your hard work behind the scenes to make this event such a success!

Celebrating Scholarship, Leadership & Service at Loyola University New Orleans.

On April 15, the Alpha Sigma Nu chapter at Loyola University New Orleans proudly welcomed its 2026 inductees. These outstanding students join a community of lifelong learners devoted to academic excellence, grounded in the Jesuit mission, and committed to service.

This month, chapter members also put those values into action. Student volunteers partnered with the Harry Tompson Center in downtown New Orleans, helping clean bathroom and shower facilities while donating essential items such as socks and underwear to support residents in need.

We congratulate our newest AΣN members and commend the chapter for embodying the Jesuit call to be people for others.

This initiative was made possible through Alpha Sigma Nu grant funding, supporting the chapter’s ongoing commitment to actively live out the mission.

Happy Earth Day 🌎

As members of Alpha Sigma Nu, we are called to lives rooted in scholarship, service, and care for others—including care for our shared home.

In Laudato Si’, Pope Francis reminds us that protecting creation is central to who we are: 💫

“Living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is essential to a life of virtue; it is not an optional or a secondary aspect of our Christian experience.”

Earth Day is a meaningful reminder that this responsibility is ongoing. The choices we make in our communities, campuses, and daily lives shape the future we share.

Happy Easter ✨

As we celebrate the Risen Christ, we are reminded that hope is alive in our world today—present in moments of grace, acts of service, and our call to be people for and with others.

Rooted in Jesuit values, may we continue to find God in all things, respond with love and justice, and walk forward with renewed faith.

Wishing the Alpha Sigma Nu family a joyful and blessed Easter. 🌿

“I serve a risen Savior, He’s in the world today...
I see His hand of mercy; I hear His voice of cheer,
and just the time I need Him, He’s always near.”
