Monday, Samantha Abramson came to tell us about HERC. We were honored to hear from Eva Zaret, Holocaust survivor! Today, Molly Dubin came to discuss the Jewish community’s role in the Civil Rights movement. We have also heard from Scott and Amber about life before the Holocaust, engaged with the Holocaust timeline activity, and facilitated rich conversations about the Holocaust and civil rights.

Our annual regional seminar for teachers is now accepting applications from teachers who desire a free, superior quality professional development opportunity occurring June 23-28 in Milwaukee. Wisconsin Act 30 mandates Holocaust education in grades 5-8 and 9-12. The Wisconsin seminar will help teachers fulfill that requirement. Our seminar is open to teachers who are employed as upper elementary through college level educators. You don't have to be from Wisconsin to apply. Lodging subsidies are available to educators living more than 45 miles outside of Milwaukee. Graduates of the Wisconsin seminar are eligible to attend again provided we have 15 new teachers as part of the cohort and can earn a generous recruitment incentive for referring new teachers to the 2024 seminar (restrictions apply).
